HMSC4 & HMCC1...sort of

Sand-dollarHeather posted a double challenge for the H&M DT for the weekend and I just now got a chance to get to it thanks to the whirlwind of birthdays!

I stuck to the sketch, but the color challenge was Real Red, Only Orange, Yoyo Yellow, and So Saffron...not quite what I ended up with, but  hey,  a challenge is a starting point for inspiration, right?  I ended up keeping the Real Red, but I pulled out the brand-spankin' new Tangerine Tango...what a gorgeous color!  I also used Summer Sun, Basic Black, and a touch of Green in the marker color.

After I colored in all the starfish I removed a lot of the color with the Copic blender pen so it wasn't quite so bold.  You really needed some shades at first for this baby ;)  The jumbo starfish is from the H&M set Sea Life, and the mini starfish are from the new H&M set Fun in the Sun...they are a perfect match together!!

Thats it for now...I am posting from my moms house and I can't think much less type straight!  Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!  -Cyndi

Blog candy winner & some Pink Cat fun

Hey!  I am still alive...though I barely feel like it after these last few days.  Perry's birthday was Thursday, then Rachael's was Friday...we had 10 girls here Friday night, went to the pool Saturday afternoon, then had 2 more girls over Saturday night.  My house has been a wreck, I have been up way too late for my old bones every night, and I haven't been near the computer to read blogs or update mine :(

So, first I promised to pull a name for the blog candy.  After Friday night I had Rachael do a name from Random.org ...it chose Alyssa #20 who said:

I think I'm actually #20. I listen to metal. Slipknot, Korn, Rammstein, Pantera, Metallica, etc. Although, hubby and I just went to a Poison concert the other night (free tix) and had a blast! So we've been listening to old hair band stuff lately! :) Love the blog! And thanks for the chance! :o)

So, send me an email Alyssa with your snail mail and I'll get this sent off to you!!

There were actually 3 (maybe 4?) who responded who listened to metal.  so you are not alone!  I had quite the range of responses, I thought I'd print it off and have Perry pull some up on i-tunes so we could check out some of the stuff I've never heard of!  since I didn't answer the question myself: The last cd's I bought were Natasha Beddingfield and Pat Monahan (the lead singer from Train)  Then I download these to my ipod...but I like to have some cd's for the car :)

On to stamping!  First I will share my entry for the Pink Cat Studio contest that ran last week.  The challenge was to create Lily or Billy's "room" using only Pink Cat Studio Stamps.  You could draw anything else.  I chose to create Lily a treehouse.  Both of my daughters helped with ideas and we had a ton of fun doing this:

Lilys-clubhouse Little Michael is helping out by holding the clubhouse shut in this shot :)  I used the big carousel notes in Wasabi for the tree top, the bottom was hand cut.  I cut strips of darker brown for the slats, then attached them with brads for the nails.  The slide was the biggest challenge...I'll just say urmph.

The clubhouse was made from the chocolate envelopes that came with the carousel notes.  You can see Lily peeking through the window :)  The grass is a strip of Celery cardstock cut in notches and curled down.  I also added a bunch of flowers, a kitty in the tree and some baloons for her birthday party.  Lily's friend is hanging out in the tire swing.

Here is the inside of the clubhouse:

Lily-inside It is all decorated for Lily's birthday party...complete with party hats, her presents, and some dress up fun for party guests.  The curtains were made from the fairy wings in the set (Dress Up Lily)  Some images are from the Dress Up Billy set.  Melissa is also releasing an accessory set in August to go with these two...

Here is also a card that I made while in the midst of this project last week.  I just couldn't get the idea out of my head!

Treasure-chest The outside was done with the SU! Weathered background stamp.  When you open the chest it will be another bday card for my stash for little boys.  This Billy stamp is actually from the Billy Plate one.

Thats it for now mateys!  I need to catch up on some stamping and read a bunch of blog posts :0

Thanks for stopping by, happy Monday!

Going Coastal!

Going-coastal I have a number of cards stacked up on my desk that I haven't had a chance to uload yet...so today it is Lizzie Anne Designs Thursday in honor of the 2nd birthday of LAD!!  Happy Birthday Tricia & Meredith :)

I made this card last week for the sketch challenge at SCS, I uploaded it there, but it never made it here somehow.  I love the sketch...very fun and different and it was a bit of a challenge too.  The papers are from a scrap pad by Me & My Big Ideas.  The stamps are a fun set that I borrowed from my friend Heather called By the Sea...it was one of LAD's last releases that I didn;t get.  They have a ton more coming this week BTW...head over to check out their Anniversary Celebration...there is a sketch contest, and tons of peeks!!  I am off now to go birthday shopping with my DD for her party tomorrow!

All That Scraps Wednesday

Jen has been hosting some fun challenges every week for the All That Scraps DT!!   This week was no different, we were given a fun Amy R sketch to work on :)  I have that card for you, but also I made a really fun borthday party invite for my daughter Rachael's bday that I want to share first.

Bucket

This was so much fun to make!!  Rachael and her sister Taylor helped out a lot with the ideas of making the pocket card into a bucket (my idea), adding a shovel as the insert (Rachael's idea), etc, etc.  I designed most of it then Rachael said yes or no...then she had to make all the dozen copies of it!  I did a lot of cutting and some coloring but she did most of the work :)

The lining of the bucket is Basic Grey Cupcake PP, I got the 6x6 pad from Christine (All That Scraps)...the small pads are fun cause you get a lot of different patterns for not a lot of bucks!!  I used to only buy 12x12, but no more!  Only the stuff I really like :)  The little monkey is out of one of the new realeses by CC Designs, Summertime Fun.  I absolutely adore this set!  He is holding balloons and wearing  a party hat from Froggie & Friends...and the sentiment is from a Lizzie Anne Designs set that Christine also carries called Its a Party.

The shovel inside is cut at a bit of a slant so that it would stay tilted over to the side (pic below).  The bucket is only attached with the brads, then I added a ribbon handle with some glue dots.

Bucket-inside

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Summertime Fun, Froggie & Friends (CC Designs), Its a Party (Lizzie Anne Designs)
  • Paper: Real Red, Summer Sun Green Galore, White (SU!);, Cupcake PP (Basic Grey)
  • Ink: Palette Noir, Turquoise & red (SU!)
  • Accessories: Word window Punch (SU!), Brads (Basic Grey), Red grosgrain ribbon (SU!); copic markers

Adrian-bday

Here is my card for the sketch challenge.  I needed a card for my nephew's birthday so I pulled out Lucky this time :)  He is from the CC Designs set  its My Birthday.  The sentiment is from Froggie & Friends.  How perfect is that saying...I so need that in my world of never on time!

I stuck pretty well to the sketch, but I did divide up the one panel with strips of my PP because I had some scraps that I wanted to use...I think it turned out pretty cool :)  and, back onto the subject of scraps again...I used a piece that I had previously "scrapped"...the banana embossed piece is a reject from a different project (as well as the bow) so I recycled it!!  Yeah me!!  Pretty much it for this card...but I did add a bunch of sparkle to the bows on the presents and I tried to paper-piece one...and one was enough!!

Thanks for hopping over to my corner of the web...don't forget to scroll down to the next post for a chance at Blog candy:)    Happy hump day!    -Cyndi

Fishing, Scraps, & Blog Candy

So what do fishing and scraps and blog candy have to do with each other??  Nothing!  But today they are all part of this post!  Here's a peek of the fishing page and then on to BLOG CANDY!!

Fishing-peek

I'll tell you more about it below ;)  It is time for some goodies for one of my readers...I haven't done any in a while.  Please leave a comment on this post (including your posting number) by Friday at 11pm  EST.  So what do you have to do?  Tell me whats on your ipod right now...or   what cd have you bought recently?  I need some new tunes to download so just give me some suggestions!

Thats it and I'll let you know on Saturday:)  Oh, you want to know what you win??  here's a peek at that:  Candy

There is a new unmounted stamp set from Stampin' Up! (Sidekick sayings hostess set) , some 6x6 Fall Flowers DSP, a pad of PP from K & Co, a bunch of ribbon and 2 COPIC markers so that you can give them a try!!

Now...I am back to the topic of scraps.  I know you are sick of hearing this this week...but I am on a mission!  I am trying to make cards with pieces from the scrap basket, and I am trying to force myself to use scrappin kits that I ordered way back when that have just sat there.  For this page I picked a kit.

Actually I picked the kit and told myself that I WOULD use it no matter what.  I wasn't really fond of the copper sticker letters or the chipboard pieces or even the patterns on the PP...too blah for me.  so I had to head off to my pics to see what might work

Fishing What I found was a pile of pics from Rachael's camping trip last summer with the Greene family.  These 2  pics were the right color for this page so I went from there.  The large circle was PP already in that shape which made that easy-peasy!!  did you notice that I actually pulled out the trusty old sewing machine for this one??  <<Gasp>>  I think it may live on the table for a while so that it gets used more often.  Its not that I don't like to sew on my pages or cards...the monster just takes up too much space in an already cluttered room.

Then all I did was use the pieces  that came in the kit and add a bit of jornaling.  Then I remembered the fishing rod in the new  "Cozy on Up" set from H & M Stamps.  Tada!!  Just what it needed :)  Thats it for now.  I will have some CC Designs cards for you tomorrow and I may sneak in a bit of Unity tonight...my last order just arrived!

Thanks for stopping in!  Happy Tuesday :)     -Cyndi

CSS22: Michael

Michael-both  OK, here we go!!  The 2 pager first :)  From the minute I drew the sketch I knew that I wanted to use this fun paper from Kaleidoscope that I have had for like 2 years!!  I had no idea what pics I was going to use, but started laying it out anyway.  The page started on Soft Sky..then I pulled out these pics of Michael and decided to change the background to white.  (See, I never adhere anything until the whole thing is basically done...I change my mind a LOT!!)

The other thing that I knew I wanted to use was the fun little "Remember when" stamp over in the corner.  Its a Unitystamp from the kit "Bliss & a Birdie", the June Kit of the Month.  It has been begging me to get it inky all month! Michael-close1

Its such a fun little stamp.  It was kind of getting lost in the pale but oh-so-funky green, so I sponged the edges with some blue to help it pop a bit.  (thanks to Faithfor reminding me that I have a whole drawer full of sponge daubers that I have been neglecting).  I also stamped the image again on a scrap of the pattern paper and pieced the arrow back onto the image for a little extra somun-somun.  The circle stamp is again from the fun "Crcle of Thanks" kit from Unity...I stamped it on the orange PP, then randomly colored in a few of the dots with a white gel pen.

Michael1

The hugely fun "M" is from a pack of chipboard that I picked up 2 years ago at CK Convention...it is from Rusty Pickle.  I have the whole alphabet and I have been seriously hoarding it!!  Shame on me, it is too fun to hide away!!  I covered the M with some of the same PP and then did some major sponging on the edges so it would pop out!!  The rest is pretty self-explanatory...I added a bunch of buttons, some clips, and ribbon then spelled out the rest of his name with CTMH letters that I just love!!

Michael2

Thanks for stopping by today!  Check back for some serious BLOG candy this week...it is finally that time!!   Have a great Sunday and happy Scrapping!!     -Cyndi

the Scrappy Sketch is back!

Css22 I am back with a new Scrappy sketch!!   I meant to take off just one week, which turned into 2...sorry.  I will do every other week for the next couple of weeks...it is much easier on me and my cohorts til the kids go back to school!

The basics...please play along with us!  No need to follow the sketch to a tee...none of us ever do...it is just a springboard for your creativity!  You can use one page or both or even turn it into a card if you want!!  Just come back and link up what you created as a comment to this post so we can all see it!  If you upload to a public gallery like Splitcoast use keyword CSS or CSS22.

Heather is still chasing the kids in the waves at her summer cottage, so check back in at her blog in a week or so when she goes home.  But for today you can blurf on over to Lynn's corner of the web to see what she cooked up...AND I would like to give a big shout out to Libby, who will be joining us in our scrapping!!  Libby is a long-time bloggin' bud and I am thrilled to welcome her to our little "sketch team"!!

My page is ready to go, but of course my post isn't!  I am busy typing it now and it will be up shortly!  Hop back over in just a few!!

A "Cool" Mini Challenge

Cool Just looking at all that ice cream kinda cools you right off, yeah?  Ha, I wish!!!  Still blazing hot down in NC, although we have finally had a lot of rain this week.

I have wanted to play along with this Ways to Use It Challenge for a couple of days now  and it finally came together.  I found this sketch from Card Positioning Systems (CPS71)  through a link from Amy R's blog...it had mini-panels...that works right??  I also used mini brads :)

The stamps are again from the must-have go-get-it-now Fun in the Sun set from H & M Stamps.   I had fun making the background for this (but I wouldn't necessarily advise it)...I used the SU! Polka dot background stamp and inked it up with all 4 colors in markers...the counting of dots was not so fun.  But the result made me very giddy!!  I wanted a multi-coloredd dot paper and it worked!!

I also like the way the ribbon is tied through the button...i have been meaning to try this, but you have to have a really narrow and thin ribbon!  Overall I just LOVE the way it turned out!!

I amy have more for you tonight, but I will be here with my sketch and pages in the morning!  Thanks for visiting!!  -Cyndi

Storing my Unity Wooden Cassettes & a Layout

Unity-cartridges Does anyone remember Patterr'spost last week that linked HERE...and showed you how to make your own Clip-it-Up??  (You haven't been???  well you just need to boogie on over and check it out!)  Pretty cool and great directions!!  Well, I kinda made the idea waaaaay easier.  I bought this Baker's rack a while back and had intentions of hooking stuff to it.  Well, guess what?  The side of the unit is the PERFECT place to hange all of my Unity stamps that are mounted on the thin wooden cassettes!!  I'll show you another day what I've done with all of my un-mounted ones.  (What I will do as the collection grows, which it IS doing...no idea!!)

But anywho, Is this cool or what?  Cost >>>less than $5!!  All I bought was a box of jumbo paperclips.  I split them open right above the loop with the wire cutter on my needle nose pliers that came in my SU! tool kit (did anyone know it had a wire cutter??  It took my 12 year old daughter to show me that...DUH!!)  Then they hang right on the loop!!  Here is the closeup:   Unity-close

Kinda cool, huh??  I am so stinkin proud of myself for figuring this out!! The space was already there and it is perfect...they are still almost in reach and better yet...in VIEW!!  Thanks Patter for leading me to that blog!!

The original reason I got this rack is I was running out of room...yes, on the huge wall of built ins!!  still not enough storage!  The punch situation has driven me bonkers!!  BUT I finally have a solution I like :)  They are stored on this unit, right near my island (you can view my stamp island in THIS POST) and right beside my Wall Units (you can see those HERE).  Its just the extra room I needed!!  Here is one shelf of the large punches:

Punches

The rack is actually 6 feet tall so it gives me lots more shelves and storage!!  I'll share some more storage ideas this week and/or next :)

BUT, on to the page for the day!!  This page came together pretty quick.  I was looking at piles of pattern paper that I had sorted out from kits...wanting to just USE them and not re-file them to be lost again forever.  so I decided to make a pile that I would MAKE myself use this month!!  <<I'll let you know how that goes, bwaaahaha>>.  The paper for this one is a couple of fun sheets from Scenic Route that Ive had around forever.

5things

The fun stamps are from Unity (am I in love with this company or what???)...Brooke just posted a fun page over at the Unity blogthis week using the same stamp from the same set (Best Friends).  Its a really fun set that I got from one of Angela's wild Random specials...they are so awesome!!   The pics are some of Perry...he is really hard to get a shot of anymore.  He would way rather be on the other end of the camera.  In fact he takes incredible shots...but I want just one or two of him once in a while!  But this is how you will normally find him at any point during the day...tucked behind his laptop :)

Thats it for today!  I have some more H&M for you tomorrow and my Scrappy sketch will be back on Sunday!  I have a new scrapper designing with us...can you guess who she is?  I'll let you know in 2 more days!

Thanks for stopping by!    -Cyndi

OCC Challenge

HopeI have been wanting to do a challenge from the new blog,  Our Creative Corner...and I finally played along at the very last minute with the sketch challenge this week.

I am stuck back again on Floral Fantastical, the awesome new set that I won from Unitylast week!  This set is just too much fun to play with :)  I masked off the bottom of the flower stamp with tape and stamped that, then masked off the top of the watering can with tape and stamped it under the stems so it looks like the flowers are in the can (they are actually in a vase on the rubber).  That is all colored in with my copics and some spica glitter pens to add some shimmer and  shine!

I added one of the floral borders to  the bottom of the 2nd layer (IRL this stamp is way longer...I just used part of it!!)  All of my 3 layers are multi-layered...funny how this gets a bit out of hand.  The hope sentiment is just one of many words in this set.   I punched it out with the small oval punch and popped it up on multi-dimensionals.  The flower can layer is also raised on dimensionals.  Finally I pulled out the last of my red Flame brads that I have been hoarding for just that extra touch.

I did some cool organizing this week but haven't snapped a pic yet so stay tuned for that.  Thanks for stopping by and have a happy Friday!  I will have a new sketch for you this Sunday!!  -Cyndi

H & M Stamps New Release is today!!

Campin-fun Today H & M Stamps is releasing 2 adorable new sets, Fun in the Sun which I gave you some peeks of already, and Cozy On Up....which I have 2 cards with today!   I haven't done any camping since my girls quit scouts last year (insert sigh)...but I do have many fun memories of camping, campfires, and smores!!

This set has a ton of fun images and will coordinate great with the set that Heather released a couple of months back: Dad's Outdoors.  for the first card I used a skecth from SCS from a couple of weeks back.  I stamped the campfire and 2 sets of marshmallows.  I later thought...wouldn't it be fun to add some white liquid applique to the marshmallows and then heat it until it looks burnt??  I may have to try that!

This was a really easy card once you figure out the size of the little squares...but I thnk the color turned out fun!!

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Cozy on Up (H & M Stamps)
  • Paper: Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip (SU!); Summer Travel PP (Marcella), White (Papertrey)
  • Ink: Burnt Umber (Palette)
  • Accessories: copper brads (American Crafts), 1/16" hole punch, copic markers

Cozy-on-up

For my next card I wanted to try a baby card with the cute bear.  He turned out pretty cute, but I think its the sentiment thats just not right.  Maybe for a grandma to send to a little boy??

I even tried doing 2 of him, but it didn't work with the colors I chose...I'll try that again!!  He is simply adorable though!!  I think he will be lots of fun to play with again and again!!

Supplies are listed below...don't forget to head over to H & M Stamps  today to pick up this adorable set and the super-fun Fun in the Sun!!  Have a great day :)     -Cyndi

USS07: Cool Crutches

CrutchesI am back in scrapbooking mode again!  I have gutted and cleaned and purged all week!  I ahve also decided that I am GOING to USE some of my old pattern paper if it kills me!!  I pulled out 2 large sized scraps for this one...yeah!!

I started with Christi's sketch over on the SCS Unity forumthis week...USS07.  It was a terrific sketch but I have to admit that I cheated again a little...I left an element out...kindof a swirly thing, but I did add a few things, so that evens out, right??

I have been trying to figure out what to do with these pics of Michael for like forever...and I love the way it turned out!!  IRl its way better...I get such a glare when I take photos of my photos...any suggestions??

The star and the cirlcle are both the same stamp...one of the circle images from the Circle of Thanks Unityset...it actually has a border around it, but I cut that off for the circle, then just punched out the middle with my star punch for the star!!  Cruthes2

Unity stamps are so AWESOME for making scrapbook pages..the images are HUGE!!  The bottom journaling piece is from the Kit of the Month last month...Bliss and a Birdie...LOVE that kit and can't wait for this months!  such a fun and eclectic mix of images by different stamp artists within Unity!

Here's one more closeup and then the supplies:

Back to the Previews...

Shell-we-meet I am back on previews for a couple of days!!  Here are 2 more cards done with "Fun in the Sun", coming to you from H & M Stamps on the 10th!!  I just love all the fun little images that Heather has packed into one set!!  There are 19 of them :0  She has outdone herself with adorable sentiments as well in this fun set!

For the first card I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from last week.  I used the cute little shells for the trio of embellishments at the bottom...I think that turned out kinda fun!  I also exacto'd out the centers of the shovel and pail so that I could hang the shovel on the handle...what was I thinking??  But it turned out cool so it was worth it.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps:Fun in the Sun (H & M stamps)
  • Paper: pattern (Creative Imaginations), white (Papertrey), Orange (Bazzill), Olive (SU!)
  • Ink: noir (Palette)
  • Accessories: jumbo brads from stash, white gel pen (signo), exacto

Fun-in-the-summer-sun

For this card I used Heather'ssketch for the week HMSC2...but I cheated...I flipped it on the side so that the circle was at the bottom.  I have been dying to use this fun Imaginesce paper that I got from ATS last week, and I think it was just perfect for this set!  I used the fun little sand castle for the first time on this card...I love this image!  I just wish our castles looked anything like that when we build one!!

Again, a pretty easy card, not a ton of embellies...the wild paper was plenty :)  I cut the circles with my curvy cutter, which obviously needs a new blade, so I had to distress it a bit so it looked intentional, KWIM?

So, I will have more peeks for you tomorrow from the other fun set for the month!  Happy Tuesday...  -Cyndi

Lovin' my Unity blog candy!!!

You-rock!WOOHOO  for me...did I tell you guess what I won last week??  I won the blog candy for a Unity new release over at Patter'sblog!!  It was this awesome new set called Floral Fantastical...and fantastic it truly is!!  I have had so much fun playing around with it over the weekend :)

I created 2 cards so far...the first is this fun and bright little number.  I stamped the floral vase on Papertrey white, colored it in with copics, then pieced the vase with some fun Polka dot paper.  All that I had left was a little tiny piece...but just enough for the vase and the small strip on the left (Yes, that means I am using my SCRAPS!)  The bottom piece is NOT patterned paper...it is one of the images in the set...a paisley with floral....I stamped it repeatedly then colored that in with copics.  It is such a fun pattern and turned out really cool I think!!

The You rock is actually one long word, that was masked, it is from the Bliss and a Birdie Kit of the Month at Unity....last months kit, but still available for like another week...then it is gone forever!  This is one set you do not want to miss!!  This months kit is already posted, but I won't get it for almost 2 more weeks...can't wait!! It is as adorable as the first month's.  Anywho, back to the card.  I then placed the scalloped frame around the re-configured sentiment, colored it in, then added a few dots :)  There is also some Eucalyptus and Fruit Punch stickles in the centers of the flowers, but as usual, hard to see online.  This has got to be one of my favorite cards that I have made in forever...do you like it??

Here's the other one:

Get-wellI love this one too, but not as much as the first.  But this butterfly is simply gorgeous and really fun to color!!  It has some little Stickles on the wings too!!

I started with a Kraft cs base and added a couple of strips of PP and a bow.  Then my main image is all one stamp.  I pulled the colors from the PP...turned out to be bright and fun too, even though it is a get well card...but hey...shouldn't it be cheery too??!  I wrangled a few more of my Flame dew drops for this one...no more hoarding the fun stuff!!  I also recycled the cute little Safety pin from a Unity tag on a set :)  Pretty thrifty and smart, huh?

Thats it for now...but don't forget...the All That Scraps release party is tonight at 10pm EST in the ATS forum... please come out to play!!  Tomorrow I will be back to previews for H & M Stampsrelease on the 10th!  Happy Monday!      -Cyndi

We all Scream for Ice Cream!!

Today is Preview day #3...Sweet Treats card Kit!!  Christine explained a bit about it and whats in it over at the ATS blog.  Here's what she said:

I mentioned before that this month would be our first ever card kit. I drew the stamps specifically for the card kit. Since everyone loves Monkey, he is back with a new friend, a bear. And what is better in the summer months than ice cream?

The kit will contain:

10 pieces of cardstock

6 pieces of pattern paper

7 yards of ribbon

36 brads

16 gems

1 Stardust Glitter Pen

1 Sweet Treats Stamp Set

1 Instruction sheet to make 5 cards

There is enough in this kit to make the 5 cards plus plenty more. This will be an every other month kit.

Monkey-ice-cream

The design team each got a mini kit to play with.  I made 2 cards using the contents (and of course I had some bits and pieces left over to use for other projects :) )  I just love both of the mischevous main images in this set...I was already in love with the monkey, but his bear friend is pretty adorable too!  The set also comes with an ice cream cone, and lots of cute sayings and is packaged in a tin :)  It will be available at All That Scraps on Monday.  Don't forget to join us for the party Monday night in the forum!

For my first card I used Taylor's cupcake challenge sketch last Friday (TECC22) ...it had a cute awning on top!  I colored in the ice Cream with my Clear glaze pen over the copic colors, but its so hard to see in a pic!  Supplies are listed for both cards below.

Also head over to the blog today to see what the rest of the team cooked up and to enter to win this set FREE!!

Teddy-ice-cream

For the 2nd card I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from last week, Mojo43.  I added some white to the mix here that hasn't seen the light of day in a while...Shimmery White by Stampin' Up!  I also added some glitter with my Gelly Roll glitter pen which comes in the kit!!  The ovals are cut with nestabilities (available at ATS), the small oval is a punch.

Ink: Burnt Umber (Palette)

Lucky and Lulu hit the Beach

Discovery-cove Previews day 2!!  These cute little guys are just 2 of the 3 adorable images in one of the new sets Christine is releasing on the 7th over at All That Scraps!  Are they not just the sweetest??  Scroll down for a closeup of Lulu...I paper pieced her swimsuit and fins to match the background PP in the page (I did the same for Lucky too :) )  I stamped the letters for the title in black and then traced just inside of each with a marker to add just a touch of color.

  • Supplies:
  • Stamps: Summertime Fun (CC Designs), Pupcat Alphabet (Lizzie Anne Designs), Quirky Alphabet (Cornish Heritage Farms)
  • Paper: Summer Travel PP (Marcella by K), White (Papertrey)
  • Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir
  • Supplies: buttons (CTMH, Autumn Leaves), markers (Copic)

Discovery-cove-closeup Doesn't she just make you want to go snorkeling?  hehe.  I had a great time on our daytrip to Discovery Cove, but we never did get a chance to snorkel.  I will have to share my dolphin pics another day though...that was like the coolest thing ever!!

I also have a card for you today, still using this cute Lulu image.  I used the sketch and color challenges for the week over at At Splitcoast  Stampers...aren't you proud of me??  The color combo just called out to me and  I couldn't resist... Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, and Wild Wasabi.  what fun summer colors for a swimsuit and gear for this cute kitty, right??  I also wanted to have just the right color of brads, so I made my own with white brads and a copic marker!  Kinda cool, but they didn;t stay very shiny...any tips??

A couple more quick things about Lulu....I used my Sakura clear glaze pen to make her mask shiny and wet looking (and her nose!)...and added some stardust glitter to the fishies and starfish!  The pink background was made with one of the Big Ol Backgrounds stamps by CC Designs ... Polka Dots.

Happy Independence Day!

RWB-smile Happy early 4th!  I hope to have a fun afternoon of stamping with my friend Heather...maybe some pool time, and definately some fireworks.  The hubby is working, so probably no grilling out.  I will have more peeks for you tomorrow, but wanted to do a little something in honor of our country.  This is a thank you I made a few days ago while I was in the Red/white/blue mood.  I didn't want to use stars...but kept thinking about a vase of flowers for some reason.  I pulled out one of my favorite Verve sets...Floral Whimsy.  I also used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #44.  The sentiment is from one of the all new Verve sets this month...All About You.

I stamped the background layer with the little flowers from Floral Whimsy in Black, then colored them all in with red and blue, then went back and dotted or colored in the centers of each with a white gel pen.  The rest is pretty straight forward stamping & embossing!  Check back in tomorrow afternoon for more new CC Designs!   -Cyndi

Supplies:

  • Stamps: Floral whimsy, All About You (Verve Stamps)
  • Paper: Ballet Blue, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Basic Black (SU!), White (Papertrey)
  • Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir
  • Accessories: markers (Copic), Swiss dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Circle punches, Brocade Blue jumbo Grosgrain & Black/white gingham ribbon, Black brads (SU!), dimensionals, white gel pen

Queen of Everything

Queen-kitty My cat Roxie definately thinks she is the queen of everything...she is the ruler of the household.  So I just love this cute new set that Christine designed this month!!  There are actually 3 new sets that will be available this month from CC Designs, including the kick off of a brand new card-kit of the month!

You can view samples of this set, "Pretty Kitties", as well as the others for the next few days over at the ATS blog.  While you are there enter every day for a chance to win one of these new sets!  On Monday July 7th we will be having our release party over at the forum...10pm EST!!

Supplies are listed below, but a few notes: I wanted a flower to match pretty ribbon that Christine sent me, so I used my white gel pen to add polka dots to a plain pink Prima flower...kinda cool!  I also used some bling on the card thats hard to see...Kitty's crown, collar, and eyelashes are all colored with my atyou Spica glitter pens...why have I been ignoring these lately?  They used to be one of my favorite things but have been ignored lately...but no more!  I used them all this week on projects :)  I wanted a sentiment to fit in a small circle tag so I pulled out this saying from The Cat's Pajamas (also available at All That Scraps) which just happens to be a long sentiment, but I masked it off a couple pof times with some tape so that it fit  just right!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Keep checking back in, remember I have peeks for you all week and I will have blog candy soon!!  -Cyndi

Double Challenge

Wedats I have a double challenge for you today!!  This weeks Wednesday DT challenge at All That Scraps was a color challenge... Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, and Groovy Guava.  I love these colors together, but as I kept hunting through my kazillion CC Designs sets, nothing was jumping out for this combo.  BUT I remembered these new Pink Cat Studio stamps that Christine is now carrying at All That Scraps.  Perfect!

So then I headed over to the Pink Cat Studio blog because I also remembered a sketch challenge there this week :)  My layout isn't quite like the sketch (nothing new there), but I didn't stray too much either!

These Billy stamps are so fun!  I have had them for a couple of weeks and haven't gotten them inky yet...isn't that shameful?  I just ordered the new Billys too...hehehe...He is just so fun to color.

The supplies are listed below.  You can play along with the sketch challenge over at  the Pink Cat studio blog, and you can also play along with the All That Scraps challenge over at the ATS blog .  and don't forget, sneak peeks start tomorrow, and there will be chances to win FREE stamps by CC Designs!  Check back for more info :)  Thanks for blurfing by my corner of the web!    -Cyndi

I will be starting the week of peeks from All That Scraps in a couple of days...so stay tuned for that!

But, today Bright I have a sneak peek for you from a fun (and pretty new) company called H and M Stamps.  All of Heather's sets are clear acrylic.  These images are both from a new set coming out on the 10th of July called Fun in the Sun.  I used just 2 of the 19 (yes I said 19!!) images in the set :)  Talk about a great value!

I had a hard time choosing what to ink up first, but ended up with my favorite shoes of all time...flip-flops!  I colored them in to match the DP, and even glittered the straps with my atyou Spica glitter pens, which haven't been seeing much love lately.  I used Jumbo scallop scissors for the border, and also for the scalloped edge on the sentiment panel...I think that turned out pretty cool!!   But, I kept the layout pretty simple on this one :)  I will have more peeks for you in the next week or so from H and M!  Thanks for stopping in!  -Cyndi

Friday Sketchers and a page

Believe-cardHappy Monday!!   I have a couple of things for you today :)  First is a card....I used the Friday SketchersBlog  card sketch from last Friday for the layout.  (#7)

All of the stamps are from the Unity set Believe.  I used my SU! markers to ink up the stamp...then added some stickles to the centers of the flowers.  The small "believe" is from a larger stamp in the same set ...I just inked the little word that I wanted with a marker then punched it out.  The little swirls and flowers around the tag are hand doodled.  I also hand drew a border around all the panels with a blue marker.  I think the colors turned out really fun...I'm not a real Only Orange kinda gal...more Pumpkin Pie...but Orange was just right with these blues!!

  • Supplies:
  • stamps: Believe (Unity)

I have been trying to figure out what to do with pink pictures from halloween...this will have to do!  I pulled out some wickedly wild and fun Fancy Pants paper for the color scheme, then muted it down a touch with Gray.
