“Joy Fold” Card
The joy fold card is a card that was featured on Splitcoast Stampers a few weeks back and I thought that I would share how I made this one with you! These cards are so fun and easy to make… Its like having a small card on a larger card, except they are interlocked.
You want to start with a “base” card that will be your regular card dimensions
-I did mine 4.25x11 for the base, then folded this in half to make 4.25x5.5
-Cut off about 1.5 inches from the top layer (so the back will still be
4.25x5.5 and the front will now be 4.25x4)
-You can layer pattern paper over these if you desire (front PP layer will be
4 x 3.75 and inside bottom PP layer will be 4 x 5.25)
The next main part is your smaller card. -My small card base started at 3 x 7 so that when its folded it becomes 3 x 3.5) -You can put layers of pattern paper on this small card or just the Stamped panel When all of your layers are assembled on the small card and the large card base you will attach the two cards together. Open up both cards. Lay the large one with the open end on the right. (fold on the left) Lay the smaller one with the open end on the left. Position the back (bottom) of the small card on top of the inside of the larger card so that the fold of the small card is about 1” from the open end of the inside. Attach. Then you will fold the top of the large card over the inside of the small card.
Finally close the small card so it is folded over the bigger one. That’s it! Have fun creating J -Cyndi Supplies: Stamps: Bear Hugs, Its My Birthday, Lucky’s Christmas Wish Paper: Cogsmo PP (Cosmo Cricket); Kraft, Tangerine Tango, Blue Bayou, Real Red (SU!) Ink: Palette Hybrid Noir Accessories: markers (copic); buttons , dimensional, red gingham ribbon
Adorable card and great tutorial.
