A little more Ice Cream!

Monkey is back today with some more ice cream :)  These cute little guys from Sweet Treats go live tonight at 10pm EST at All That Scraps.  Christine has 4 fabulous sets this month...the Sweet Treats card kit, Summertime Fun, Pretty kitties, and one I haven't previewed for you...a set of the months of the year in an adorable font!!

I used Jen's SFYTTthis week for  this layout and used some brand new paper that I just ordered from ATS by Piggy Tales.  The acrdstock is some unkown Bazzill color from my stash.  I have been doing some spring cleaning this week, and finding all kinds of cool stuff that I forgot that I had, as well as a whole pile of misc. Bazzill colors!  Lucky me!!

We all Scream for Ice Cream!!

Today is Preview day #3...Sweet Treats card Kit!!  Christine explained a bit about it and whats in it over at the ATS blog.  Here's what she said:

I mentioned before that this month would be our first ever card kit. I drew the stamps specifically for the card kit. Since everyone loves Monkey, he is back with a new friend, a bear. And what is better in the summer months than ice cream?

The kit will contain:

10 pieces of cardstock

6 pieces of pattern paper

7 yards of ribbon

36 brads

16 gems

1 Stardust Glitter Pen

1 Sweet Treats Stamp Set

1 Instruction sheet to make 5 cards

There is enough in this kit to make the 5 cards plus plenty more. This will be an every other month kit.

The design team each got a mini kit to play with.  I made 2 cards using the contents (and of course I had some bits and pieces left over to use for other projects :) )  I just love both of the mischevous main images in this set...I was already in love with the monkey, but his bear friend is pretty adorable too!  The set also comes with an ice cream cone, and lots of cute sayings and is packaged in a tin :)  It will be available at All That Scraps on Monday.  Don't forget to join us for the party Monday night in the forum!

For my first card I used Taylor's cupcake challenge sketch last Friday (TECC22) ...it had a cute awning on top!  I colored in the ice Cream with my Clear glaze pen over the copic colors, but its so hard to see in a pic!  Supplies are listed for both cards below.

For the 2nd card I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch from last week, Mojo43.  I added some white to the mix here that hasn't seen the light of day in a while...Shimmery White by Stampin' Up!  I also added some glitter with my Gelly Roll glitter pen which comes in the kit!!  The ovals are cut with nestabilities (available at ATS), the small oval is a punch.

Lucky and Lulu hit the Beach

Previews day 2!!  These cute little guys are just 2 of the 3 adorable images in one of the new sets Christine is releasing on the 7th over at All That Scraps!  Are they not just the sweetest??  Scroll down for a closeup of Lulu...I paper pieced her swimsuit and fins to match the background PP in the page (I did the same for Lucky too :) )  I stamped the letters for the title in black and then traced just inside of each with a marker to add just a touch of color.

Doesn't she just make you want to go snorkeling?  hehe.  I had a great time on our daytrip to Discovery Cove, but we never did get a chance to snorkel.  I will have to share my dolphin pics another day though...that was like the coolest thing ever!!

I also have a card for you today, still using this cute Lulu image.  I used the sketch and color challenges for the week over at At Splitcoast  Stampers...aren't you proud of me??  The color combo just called out to me and  I couldn't resist... Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, and Wild Wasabi.  what fun summer colors for a swimsuit and gear for this cute kitty, right??  I also wanted to have just the right color of brads, so I made my own with white brads and a copic marker!  Kinda cool, but they didn;t stay very shiny...any tips??

A couple more quick things about Lulu....I used my Sakura clear glaze pen to make her mask shiny and wet looking (and her nose!)...and added some stardust glitter to the fishies and starfish!  The pink background was made with one of the Big Ol Backgrounds stamps by CC Designs ... Polka Dots.

Queen of Everything

My cat Roxie definately thinks she is the queen of everything...she is the ruler of the household.  So I just love this cute new set that Christine designed this month!!  There are actually 3 new sets that will be available this month from CC Designs, including the kick off of a brand new card-kit of the month!

Supplies are listed below, but a few notes: I wanted a flower to match pretty ribbon that Christine sent me, so I used my white gel pen to add polka dots to a plain pink Prima flower...kinda cool!  I also used some bling on the card thats hard to see...Kitty's crown, collar, and eyelashes are all colored with my atyou Spica glitter pens...why have I been ignoring these lately?  They used to be one of my favorite things but have been ignored lately...but no more!  I used them all this week on projects :)  I wanted a sentiment to fit in a small circle tag so I pulled out this saying from The Cat's Pajamas (also available at All That Scraps) which just happens to be a long sentiment, but I masked it off a couple pof times with some tape so that it fit  just right!

ATS DT Challenge #5

Its Christmas time!!  For this weeks Wednesday DT challenge we were to use CC Designs  background stamps...well thats easy enough, but I kept thinking about these cute snowflakes in the Reindeer Games set.  don't know why, but I couldn't get them out of my head...so I thought, why not start on Christmas cards??

So, I used one of the Big 'ol background stamps, Polka Dots, for the Bashful Blue background.   Then for the white piece I used all 3 different size snowflakes for the multi-color background (Pretty in Pink, Real Red, wild Wasabi, and Bashful Blue)  I colored the cute little Reindeer (isn't she just stinkin' adorable?!!!) in with my copic markers and added some more snowflakes and a pond for her to skate on (A Muse oval stamp).  The sentiment "Christmas wishes" is also from the set...the set is actually loaded down with 4 reindeer, lots of sentiments, and tons of backgrounds!!

I used this weeks sketch from SCS as my starting point, but it really doesn't much look like it anymore!!  Plus I think my red square is off-center!  It didn't look that way before, wonder if I took the photo at a funny angle??   Yep, thats my story, and I am sticking to it!!

ATS DT Wednesday Challenge

Jen Ofiana issued the All That Scraps DT another Wednesday challenge...to create a Gatefold card.  I flipped mine on the side so that it would be wider :)  I wanted to do a little game of leap-froggie, but I ended up with more of a pyramid!!  Oh, well.

I used one of the newest sets from CC Designs called Froggie & Friends...can you tell that I just love this set???  I paired it with the rest of the kit that Christine sent the DT for June...the pattern paper is Piggy Tales.  And have you heard the news??

Party time!

Anyone know how hot it was here in NC today?  98 degrees!   Miserable!!  and we had an outdoor party to go to...I just wanted to hop right on the slip-n-slide with the 5 year olds!  And whats up with 98 the first week of June, its usually mid July or August before it gets near 100...are we in for a whammy of a summer?  I hope not...

But, I'm finally back with my layout!  This one went together very easily...I knew I had a million pics of all the cute little smiling faces in Michael's class...squaring them off is a great way to get a bunch on a page.  I simply blew up the photo of Michael so that he would stand out. 

I added a bit of stamping on my accent elements...making use of some of my cute CC Designs stamps.  I used the sets: Monkey Love, Its My Birthday, and the new Froggie & Friends.  all the images are colored in with copics, and I doodled around all the borders.  Finally I added some DSP circles, buttons ( SU! & CTMH), and ribbon (SU!)  All of the DSP is Jersey SHore from Stampin' Up!.  The chipboard letters are CTMH. 

Colorblocking has always been a favorite pof mine for creating super fast, eye-appealing layouts.  so, give this weeks sketch a try and let me know if you did by sending me a link :)

Froggie on a Waterfall & a SALE!!

First the Sale, then scroll down for the card!  Christine, over at All That Scraps is having a HUGE June sale to make room for new product!  Here are the details straight from her email:

 We need to move out some of the slower moving items that are taking up space.

 We are starting out at 25% on most items and will continue to discount them until they are gone. But once they are gone they are gone, they will not be restocked.

 Some of the items are Cuttlekids, Disney Cuttlebug, Pattern Paper, Tins, Alterable Purses, Cardstock (Bazzil and Prism), Big Shot.

 Instead of having the items in the main category they have all been moved into the  *Sale*Sale*Sale*category to make it easier to find the items that are on sale.

 We will also have 4 or 5 -8 1/2" x 11" Paper Racks that we will be getting rid of. We will sell them for $45.00 plus you pay shipping. If you are interested please let me know.

I haven't made a waterfall card in I can't tell you how log, but I kept thinking that Froggie & hs friends were the perfect size for one of these!  I used the kit that Christine sent along to the DT this month.  The kit can be found on the same page as the new CC Designs stamps.

All the pieces of the card are from the kit except the white cardstock.  I stamped all the images and colored them with my copic markers, then outlined the edges with a black journaling pen.

If you have never made a waterfall card, they are actually quite easy, and there is a great tutorial over at Splicoast Stampers.

WSC50: Meet Froggie

Meet Froggie!  He and all of his friends are partying tonight over at theATS blog so head on over at 10:30 EST!  Isn't he just the bomb??  I fell in love with this set from my first peek at it.  As I told you earlier, it has 24 pieces!!  Thats a lot of stamps and combinations :)

For this card I started with Beate's WSC and used my new SEI Black Orchid paper pad that I picked up at Michael's last week.  I did a lot of cutting with the images and popped up his little hat.  The flowers are from a kit in my stash, origin unknown.

Some of froggie's friends

Sorry there was no post yesterday... i got way behind with kids and their stuff.  But, today I am giving you a peek-a-loo at some of froggie's friends.  Who is froggie?  Head over to the ATS blog and check out what all the DT has done with froggie and all of his friends!

Froggie and Friends is a set of 24 stamps all in a cute tin...12 little animals and 12 sentiments!  It is absolutely so stinkin' adorably cute!!  This set, along with Virginia and Layla, the 2 new Glam Girlz, will be released tonight at midnight :)  Why not join us in the forum for a little party at 10:30 EST...It was fun last month, and your head won't be spinning trying to keep up with the chatter...I hope.  Click HERE.

I have more with these guys I will share tonight during the party:)  On to this card, and here's a first:  This card was made using scraps that were alrady on my table!!....the PP is Savannah by Scenic Route, the cardstock is Old Olive and Purely Pomegranate.  The card is kind-of  like a kick-stand, turned on its side...or just a panel hangin' off a shorter top piece.  Make sense?  I also added some ribbon (all SU!) and the dots around the main image are from All in a Row (SU!) 

The best part of this sentiment is that its in 2 pieces, you can see the first half...the other half, which is inside, says, "did I miss cake?"  How cute is that??!  Hope you have a great evening, thanks for stopping by!   -Cyndi

Mojo39: Virginia Sneak Peek

Meet Virginia...the next Glam Girl from CC Designs.  She is sending her man off to sea it seems:)  I was just dying to paper piece her outfit...sash and all.  And let me tell you, that was an awfully small piece to cut!  I stamped her 4 times, once on the background white, and then once on each of the 3 colors of pattern paper.

All of the paper is from the Stampin' Up! DSP pack Boho West.  I love the R/W/B of it, but its more subtle...Ruby Red, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou (and River Rock).  For the layout of the card I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch.  The sentiment is also part of the set you will be able to purchase that includes Layla, Virginia, and 4 sentiments.  (Or available separately)  This set will be available on Tuesday over at All That Scraps :) 

Other supplies: coluzzle, SU! star punch, Blue Bayou ribbon, small Bazzill star brads, circle punches.

I also created another card with Virginia using a kit that Christine sent the DT.  I am not sure what the PP is, but she will have a link on the site near where the stamps are if you want to check out the supplies!!

Layla...an 80's kinda girl

What do you think of when you think "80's"?  don't know about you, but I lived through it in jr high and high school.  There was of course alligator shirts and top-siders and those cute bermuda handbags where you changed the covers (what were they called???) and add-a-beads, argh!!  BUT, along with the preppy trends I totally remember the other trends...more Madonna or Cyndi Lauper...BIG hair, big bows in the hair, neon parachute pants, huge v-neck sweaters from limited (also neon), high heels with jeans (gasp), pegg-legged jeans, lots of lace, lots of necklaces and funky-funky (can we say tacky) earrings!!  Ok, enough...I am making myself sick.

But, when I saw Layla (and started humming Eric Clapton's song) I kept looking at those big polka dots on her shirt screaming 80's GIRL!!

I was hunting though my stash for something that would fit the theme I had in mind.  This paper from Fancy Pants was as close as I could find...definately BRIGHT!!  I also got to use my brand-spanking new Oval Nesties that I ordered from All That Scraps last week :)   I added some dots with my black spica glitter pen, but you really can't see the shimmer on the photo.  (Gotta keep the glitter /bright theme going, too bad I didn't have some serious pink eyeshadow for her, bwaaahaha)  The flower is also Fancy Pants, but from a couple of years back in my stash.   The ribbon was hand-dyed with SU! white grosgrain and a Cool Carribean re-inker and a little H2O.

She was fun to make!  Layla wil be available in just 3 days.  she is one of 2 new Glam Girlz by CC Designs...you will get to see Virginia tomorrow.  And the cool news is, if you ordered the set of Glam Girlz last month, Layla, Virginia, and their sayings will all fit nicely in the tin with the other 3 gals.  The sentiment that I used here is also a CC Designs stamp, from the set "Hey Chicky".

While I was at it, I made one more card with Layla...I thought I'd try out the whole "inchie" thing.  Maybe I picked the wrong image, but she just gets LOST with all the wild paper on the card.  These papers are also from Fancy Pants.  The Orchid bg looked way too plain so I distressed it, a LOT...too much I think.  vere rip off part of a card then start over?  may just have to happen here, LOL.  But I like parts of it.  The sentiment (from the Girlz set) is stamped on the Soft Sky piece that is inside the card...it shows through a peek-a-boo window.

ATS 3 ribbon challenge

Christine, the owner of All That Scraps, issued the DT a challenge last week to create a card using 3 different ribbons.  OK, so my card isn't all that creative, but at least I stamped!  I feel like I've stamped quite a bit lately, but I can't show you guys anything yet.  Don't you hate when you read that?  I know I do!!  Sorry, hehe...

Pretty simple here though...I used the cute little tweethearts stamp from one of the Valentines sets: Love Ya Much.  I used some cute SEI paper Chicky Doo along with SU! Soft sky and Basic Black.  Also used: Coluzzle, ticket corner punch, copic markers, ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Lizzie Anne Designs set In the Treetop.

Its All about the Presents!

Its Lulu, all decked out with a pile of presents!  I made this card for a friend of Taylor's for her 13th birthday party today.   Taylor said, "I like Savannah's card better than the one you made for me"...sigh,  What can you say?

I didn't think I'd like this color combo for the weekly challenge on SCS...Pretty in Pink, Gable Green, and Lovely Lilac, but I saw so many pretty cards that I had to try it.  Turned out kinda fun.  I told Taylor that I really hoped Savannah was a girlie girl, bwaaahaha...its kinda pink!!  So not my usual color choice.

I used the Cuttlebug Birthday embossing folder for the pink background.  Lulu is from the Its My Birthday set by CC Designs available at All That Scraps.  The presents along the bottom are part of the Lucky stamp, I just cut off the parts that I wanted.  The sentiment is also from the same set.  I colored in Lulu and her accessories with my copic markers, then added some dots with my white gel pen to one of the presents.  Then I wanted to pull it al together so I added the same white dots around the circle mats and corner.  Also used: Delphinium ribbon from SU! (retired), Corner punch, coluzzle, both SU!

My Little Monkey

Today is the day that the new CC Designs stamps are available over at All That Scraps!  The Glam Girlz and A Hootin' Good Time, but ALSO some new sayings that go with the cute Monkey Love set that was released a couple of months back.  Christine added "My little Monkey" and "I'm bananas about you"  sayings this month, as well as the banana stamps last month.

This card uses one of the monkeys from "Monkey Love" and one of the new sayings.  I used Amy R's sketch 24 for the layout. You can see her sketch at her blog: Prairie Paper & Ink.  The pattern paper and brads are Chik-a-Dee by SEI also available at All That Scraps.  Christine also has a new section under the CC Designs stamps section featuring papers and embellishments and tons of samples using them :)  Don't forget to check it out!

Fabulous Frankie

Here is Frankie, one of Shari's friends.  Please excuse her photo...it wasn't fuzzy when it went into Photoshop, but I seemed to mess it up somehow.  Hmmm....they are supposed to get better not worse once edited...go figure.

Anywhoooo.  Frankie is one of the 3 fabulous CC Designs Glam Girlz that Christine will be releasing tonight at midnight over at All That Scraps.  This is a MUST have set!!  There will also be some partying going on in the forum tonight and some free stamps!!

For this card I used a kit that Christine sent along with pattern paper and bling!  Her bell bottoms were paper pieced with the pattern and her shades have a bit of Gelly Roll glitter bling on them :)  Me likey!!  I used the Key Tag punch to make the tag for the sentiment, going over the letters (and her lips and bracelets) with my Spica red glitter pen.

Its Simply Fabulous Darling...

Meet Shari, Isn't she just fabulous?  She is part of a  new CC Designs "Glam Girlz" set that will be available from All That Scraps on the 4th of May!  Her friends Gwenny and Frankie will be making their debut over the next couple of days.  The best part is...these girlz can also be purchased separately...but don't you want all 3 and the sassy sayings that come in the cute tin with them?  You know you do!

Shari was stamped on White cs then colored in with my copic markers.  And I just HAD to add a  lot of bling with my Gelly Roll Stardust pen and my Sakura pink glitter pen.  My favorite part are her cute cats eye shades.  Bwahaha!

I used SU! Pink Passion and Basic Black cs and some wild pattern paper from my stash for this shimmery number.  Also I finally pulled back out my Fire Rhinestone brads for the tag.  The "fabulous" and "darling" are both sentiments in the set...but they are separate words that mix and match with others in the set too :)  Stay tuned this week to meet Shari's FAB friends!  Don't forget to head over to theATS Blog to check out what the rest of the DT did with Shari and also to enter for Christine's giveaways!!

CC Designs Sneak Peek

Whooooo loves you?  I do!! Today is the first day of peeks for the new CC Designs stamps that will be released this Friday, May 2nd at midnight.  Head over to the ATS Blog and check out everyone else's creations this week too.  Christine will be giving away stamps every day until the release!!

Today we are featuring "A Hootin' Good Time".  This is a set of 16 stamps in a cd tin...complete with 8 owls, a tree, branch, and sayings!  What a hoot!  This little owl looks a bit odd, he's kinda turquoise...I just couldn't commit to a whiole owl off-color.  I think I will try again and really do one up bright and funky!!  I cut him out with my Circle Nestabilites and then mounted him on some cardstock that wa stamped with one of the CC Designs Big Ol Backgrounds (Polka dots).  The pattern paper is from Autumn Leaves and actually has cute little owls in it!

Cardstock is all SU!: Basic Black, Taken with Teal, and Soft Sky.  Brads and grosgrain ribbon are also SU!

My next card is using the Trifold Pocket tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers this week.  I used Basic Grey paper (I think it was Recess? LOL) for all the pieces.  The owl is stamped and colored with copics and adhered over the belly band around the pocket.

The pieces looked plain so I hand doodled a border with my Chocolate Chip marker.  The ribbon is American Crafts and the brads are from my stash...spare Parts maybe??  I used the Round tab punch for the pull out on my card.  Overall, the card was pretty easy to make, you just have to be able to follow directions, and Beate gives great ones!

Amy R had another challenge today for the ATS Design Team.  We were to use her sketch this week  <see it at her blog: Prairie Paper & Ink>  with any CC Designs set.  You can also see the other DT's samples at the ATS Blog. 

I used the cute little set "Hey Chicky", available at All That Scraps.  I thought the chickies should go shopping together?  They are colored in with my copics.  The banana layer of cs was stamped with Banana ink using CC Designs Big Ol Backgrounds Polka dots. Other supplies---->  Stamps: Hey Chicky & Polka Dots, CC Designs; Ink: palette Hybrid Noir; Cardstock: Ruby Red, barely Banana, Basic Black SU!, White Papertrey, pattern paper Cupcake from Basic Grey; Other: ribbon wide Ivory & Black gingham SU!, brads Basic Grey, Coluzzle cutting system, white Signo gel pen.

A Late Challenge

Here is Amy R's challenge sketch from last Friday...a bit late, huh?  She also challenged the ATS Design Team to use the new set Beautiful Butterflies from CC Designs. 

I used the smile sentiment from the Stampin' Up! set Dilly Dally (I think???, it may be the other little one on the same page, LOL...now I can't remember!)  The butterfly is stamped on Vellum cardstock with Chocolate Chip ink, then paper pieced.  The paer is all from Doodlebug, the cardstock is SU!: Regal Rose & Chocolate Chip.  I couldn't find any flowers in the right color, so I used some from my Pretties kit and dyed them with a sponge dauber and Regal Rose ink.  The brads are from my stash...Bazzill I think :)

Taylor's Birthday

Yesterday was my daughter Taylor's 13th birthday.  Wow...aren't teenage girls fun??  <snort>  I will have a house full of them this weekend, so say a prayer for my sanity :)

Here is the card that I made for her, she is a monkey addict and loves bright colors, so I pulled out this old MME paper to pull colors from.  The cardstock is SU! Lavendar Lace and White.  The stamps are all from CC Designs...the monkey is from "Monkey Love", the presents are from "Lucky's Christmas Wish", and the sentiment is from the new "Its My Birthday" set.  I colored all the images with my copic markers.  The edges of the stamped mats are inked with CTMH kiwi.

I used Jen's SFYTT from Sat for the layout.  You can see the sketch on her blog ---->i {heart}2 stamp.  Also on the front: retired Delphinium ribbon from SU!, buttons from Doodlebug.  I couldn't leave the inside blank though for my sweetie, so I addded the matching monkey from "Its My Birthday", as well as the cupcake and other sentiment, also from the same set.  Isn't that little guy cute??!

We made the invites for her party last night.  I let Taylor pick from my pattern papers (she chose this fun floral from SEI) and some stamp suggestions (she chose ipodabella).  Its funny, I had her in mind when I bought this stamp!  Its just so Taylor :)  The sentiment at the bottom of the card is from Lizzie Anne Designs "Its a Party" set. 

The card base for this one is SU! Soft Sky and the Rose ribbon is also from SU!  We colored in the bellas pulling the colors from the paper...all of them were a little different (green bow, pink ipod, etc).  We also added a bit of bling to the handbag, heart on her jeans, and her eyelashes with a spica clear glitter pen.  Isn't this a fun teen card?  She just loved it, and enjoyed helping put them together.  She's normally texting her friends all the time, so it was nice to spend some time with her, KWIM?

Happy Birthday All That Scraps!

Here is the card that I promised you earlier today.  This is one of the stamps from my favorite of the new releases this week :)  Check over at All That Scraps to see al the new stamps!!

The cute little monkey is from "Its my Birthday", and the saying is from a coordinating older set that is still available, "Monkey Love".  I used the paper tole technique that was the Technique Lovers challenge this week over at SCS.  From the photo below you can see that the monkey was stamped and colored 3 times.  His head is popped up with dimensionals, and then his hat is popped up on top of that!  Its really cool looking IRL.  (The balloon is also popped up)  I also cut out around his hands  with an exacto to slip the sentiment under them.

The pattern papers are from Bo Bunny, the ribbon is SU! as is the Summer Sun, Real Red, and Old Olive cardstock.

Sneak Peeks, Day 3

Meet Jack, Queenie's main squeeze.  Who's Queenie?  well, you just have to check back tomorrow to find out! <wink>  Jack of all Trades is another of the new releases coming out Thursday night at midnight from CC Designs.  You get Jack, some of his tools and a saying..."my sexy handyman".

I stamped Jack on some SU! Naturals cardstock then colored him in with my Stampin' Write markers.  The handyman saying is from the longer sentiment, I just masked it and punched out with my Word Window punch.  The Stripes background is a new Big 'ol Background stamp from CC Designs.  I inked it with my Bordering Blue and Ruby Red SU! markers and stamped it on Kraft cardstock.

Other supplies used: natural hemp; brass brad from Hodgepodge hardware.

CC Designs Sneak Peeks Day 2

  Todays peek is of a new set called "Beautiful Butterflies" from CC Designs.  This set along with the others previewed this week will be available Thursday night at 12:01 am at All That Scraps!  There are 2 gorgeous butterflys in the set along with 2 sentiments.

For this card I used Kristina Werner's  Color Inspiration Challenge from Lat week: Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Orchid Oplulence, and Black & white. WOW!  What a fun and bright combo to work with.  I pulled out my Bali Breeze DSP to start with...Pumpkin and Rose Red, then added the rest of the colors in cardstock.  The butterfly is colored in with my Stampin' Up! markers and then cut out to get just a touch of white, but it wasn't quite balanced so I added a couple of small flower circles from the "Always" set (SU!) in the upper corner to simulate the look of brads or dew drops.

I liked the look of the little dots around the flowers so I dotted my pattern paper pieces and the inside of the butterfly wings with a Black Stampin' Write journaler.  The sentiment is also from the Beautiful Butterfly set, but it is 2 pieces so that you can use multiple colors or move it around...very cool!  Hope you like the card, the set is just beautiful!  For more samples with this set, check out the ATS Blog later today...the rest of the Design Team will also have peeks for you!

Hey Chicky!

Hey all you CC Designs fans...this is the start of a 5 day countdown to the HUGE 1 year brithday release over at All That Scraps!!  Christine is doing a countdown at the ATS blog this week also.   Each day she will feature a new set that will be released on Thursday night at 12:01am.  I am going to follow along with the same sets each day here on my blog!  So, yes, you counted right...she is releasing 5 new sets this month...plus a new big ol background!  Woohoo!!

Today I am featuring "Hey Chicky", one of my favorites of the new sets.  There are 4 cute chicks in the set plus a saying..."Hey Chicky"....how stinkin' cute!!  For the first card I stamped the chick with an umbrella on Papertrey White, colored it in with my copics then paper-pieced the umbrella with some patttern paper from Making Memories called 5th Avenue.  I used the same pattern for the strip across the card, then coordinating papers from the same pad for the other 2 mats.  All of the mats are then matted with SU! Basic Black.

The layout for this card is this weeks Splitcoast Stampers sketch challenge...SC169.  It was  perfect layout for this skinny chick as the tall panel couldn't measure any wider than 1.5"!  All the peices are distressed with Black or Soft Sky.  I also added a bit of narrow Black grosgrain ribbon from SU! and some black buttons by Foo-fa-la.

I also made another card using this same set, but a different chick.  The pattern paper is from Heidi Grace Designs called Its my Party.  I pulled out the greens  and pinks from this pattern for the mats...Gable Green and Pixie Pink by SU!  The card base is Yoyo Yellow (normally a very un-loved color in my house, LOL)...perfect for this bright spring chick <wink>

I colored her in with my copics, adding a bit of bling to the center of the flower she is holding with my Spica glitter pen.  She is sitting on a patch of grass stamped using my A Muse Micro Oval stamp.  Other supplies: Bold bright brads and ticket corner punch(SU!); Prima flower (Fancy Pants); and button (Foo-fa-la).

Hey guys!  I am trying to get back to the daily blogging, but it was a long few days recovering from last weekend.  all went well, and I'll tell you all about it another time :)  For now, I need to start posting again and do some catch up!

Here is a card for Amy's sketch challenge over at her blog ---->Prairie Paper and Ink.  She challenged all of the ATS design team to do her sketch using our CC Designs stamps :)  To see what everyone did check out the ATS blog.

I used the set Little Penguins, available at All That Scraps.  I changed the penguins into little duckies (not my original idea...the credit goes to AMy R for this idea).  But I needed to make a baby card and this seemed perfect!  I pulled out some really old pattern paper from Stampin' Up! (long since retired) and matched it up to So Saffron and Brocade Blue cardstock.  I added a bit of wide grosgrain and the sentiment is from the SU! set Nursery Neccessities.  The images are colored in with my copic markers.

ATS DT Challenge

Amy R  issued a challenge to those of us on the Design Team for All That Scraps!  And you all know I love a challenge :)  We were to use any of our CC Designs stamps and create a card using her sketch this week, AMYRS17.  Here is Amy's sketch:

For the sketch I used my newest set from CC Designs, Monkey Love.  This is the cutest little set of monkeys!!  I pulled out some new springy paper to play with...some Heidi Grace that I picked up at my LSS. 

The card base is Gable Green from SU!, the stripes are one side of the Heidi Grace paper, the polka dots are the reverse side.  I also used SU! Pixie Pink and Barely Banana cs.  The white cardstock is still my go-to for coloring with my copics...Papertrey Stampers Select.  I also added a bit of ribbon from my stash...origin completely forgotten!!

Isn't he just the cutest??  Christine won't be releasing any sets in March, but the good news...April is her 1 year Anniversary of designing stamps and she has a spectacular party planned!  Check out the new ATS blog for some hints and a contest!!  Click ---->  HERE

I also have another card for you...its been on my desk for a while and I forgot to upload it.  This is Lulu from Love Ya Much.  She's sitting in a field of flowers (from SU! Dilly Dally)  She's still my favorite I think :)  For Lulu I used a piece of PP from a pad I bought at Michael's by Amanda Blu.  I just LOVE the colors in this paper pad!!  The card base is SU! Certainly Celery, the mats are Bazzill Black from my stash.  I used the SU! Round Tab punch in Orchid for the sentiment (which is from Lizzie Anne Designs set Funky Florals).

I also couldn't resist adding a bit of bling to the centers of the flowers with some Stickles :)  The black ribbon and brads are both SU!

Monkey Love!

Yippee!  My monkeys are in the house and now they have even seen some ink!  You see, they got a bit sidetracked from Tennessee to NC, by way of Michigan??  Don't ask...long story :)

Anywho, these little sweeties are from the CC Designs latest release over at All That Scraps.  The set is called "Monkey Love" and has 2 monkeys and 3 sentiments.

For both cards I made myself use whatever was lying around on my desk...so I went with this Red/Turquoise theme using KI Memories Love, Elsie line of pattern papers.  I tried out the cool technique of creating a scallop border with my Circle Scallop punch...not really happy with the result, but for a first try...its ok.  I'll just try again until I get the Square Nestabilities :)

Using the same papers I made the second card, using both monkeys in the set.  I kept picturing Monkeys in a Bucket all hanging on to each other, this is what came of that...no bucket but still cute.  I used Christina's idea of the heart for a leaf on the branch.

Aren't they just stinkin' adorable?  Ok, Its quick posts for the next week or two as I get into Scrapbook Fundraiser prep mode!  Off to cut some cardstock...    Thanks for dropping in!    -Cyndi

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is my last post of Valentine's Day treats and cards!  So, I am sharing 3 different little mail boxes from the last week. 

The first is the one we made at Stamp Club last week.  I have been lurking at Traget for like FOREVER to get these babies...it seems the whole counrty had them except in NC.  Luckily I got about 20 which gave me enough for club plus a few gifts. 

For this one I used SU!'s retired Valentine DSP from last year along with the set Forever in My Heart.  The hearts are stamped in the matching colors: Regal Rose, Taken with Teal, and Chocolate Chip.  I wanted to keep these simple since a dozen women were making them, so we just added a bit of ribbon and a sentiment on the side.  also, everyone had their choice of papers...I brought a huge pile of retired prints, hoping to deplete the stash just a bit...well it didn't seem to make a dent, LOL.

For my leftover mailboxes, I made 2 for Michael's preschool teachers and he liked the little lion from CC Designs available at All That Scraps.       I still used the same paper pack, just different prints.  For the inside we stuck a bunch of Hershey kisses in a cello bag and tied it up with a bow and tag.     And then I made a few more for friends with some different prints from Kaleidascope.

WSC31 My "mane" squeeze& some penguins

I have a bunch of cards for you tonight!  First, here's a cute little Valentine I made for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge.  You can see her sketch and card at her blog Fresh & Fun.  The little lion is from CC Designs Little Bit Kits "Love Ya Lots" available over at All That Scraps.  Isn't he just adorable?!  I've been playing with some of these cute sets for the last day or so, and just wait til you see whats up for next month!  I can't wait :)

For this card I used Kraft cardtsock for the card base....a small square card...and and also for the panel that the lion is stamped on.  I wanted to try using my copic markes on something besides white cs.  and guess what?  They still look great!  I colored him in with E21 and E29, and used C3 to add a bit of a shadow around him.  I stamped the A Muse small oval in Real Red, and the heart he is holding is also stamped in Real Red (I used Lizzie Anne Designs L'Amour set large heart then cut it out and trimmed it down a bit) and then edged with copic R29.  That still wasn't quite enough pop, so I added  a bit of my Red Spica glitter pen to the edges of the heart as well.

The sentiment was punched out using Stampin' Up!s circle punches.  I added the small heart from the lion set then covered it with Christmas Red stickles.  The pattern paper is Alpine from KI Memories, and the large red brads are from my stash, maker unknown.

The next card also uses this same cute lion and sentiment.  My friend Heather was over on New Years playing with my new stamps and created this card.  Isn't it adorable?  The lion's little mane is all sparkly with the Gold spica glitter pen, but its hard to see.  The card base for this one is Creamy Caramel, and the layers are Really Rust and Papertrey WHite.  She used the Print Pattern stamp for the background and it looks like she used SU! markers in Rust, Caramel, and Cocoa? but I wasn't watching at the time (I was playing the Wii.  He also has Sakura clear glaze on his nose, and the ribbon is SU! Chocolate (retired) and Caramel.

Next I have 2 penguin cards for you.  The first is from "Little Penguins" Little Bit kits from CC Designs.  I got these back in December but never got around to inking them up til recently.  What was I thinking?  They are so cute!  This set is also available at All That Scraps.  There are 4 different little penguins in the set as well as 2 sentiments.

I needed a birthday card the other day, so I came up with this one, even though I didn't end up using it.  It was a bit too girlie for what I wanted, but I have someone else in mind to receive it later!  I used Gable Green for the card base, Pixie Pink and Green Glaore for the layers behind the DP.  The paper is from Daisy D's.  The birthday sentiment is from SU! Eat Cake set.  Also used: copic markers, Bold Bright brads, ticket corner punch, Apple Green grosgrain ribbon, and Palette Hybrid Noir pad.

The last card is one that I stamped a while back that got lost on my desk in a pile.  The penguin for this card is from "Wintertime Fun" by CC Dseigns.  He is stamped 3 times on Papertrey Stampers Select cardstock and punched out with SU! square punches.  The pattern paper is also from Daisy D's, the same line as from the last card.  The card base and layers are Bazzill from my stash...don't know the names.  I used copic markers to color the images.  another thing I like about them is that I can layer my colors.  If I don't have the color I need....in this case a medium shade of orange...I created it.  I started with a golden yellow and then added light orange over the top.  The resulting color is totally different than either color that I started with.  Very cool!

Gum Slider Tutorial & the Mane Squeeze

Remember this cute little gum slider from a week or so ago?  It was an idea of the week on Christine's Scraps Chats Newsletter!  Cool!  She has had some requests for a tutorial so here goes!  First though, the details for both the old one and the new one :)

The one on the left uses the Little Bits kit "Love Ya Much" by CC Designs, available from All That Scraps.  The rest of the details can be found on this post--->HERE. 

For the one on the left I used the other cute little Valentine's set by CC Designs, "Love Ya Lots".  She is stamped in Palettte Hybrid Burnt Umber and colored in with copic markers E21, E33, E37, R20, and V12.  The pattern paper is by Cloud 9 Design and is also at  All That Scraps.

Now for the directions:

1. For a Stride gum slider cut cardstock to 3.5" x 6".  Along the 6" side you will score at 2 1/4", 2 5/8", 4 7/8", and 5 1/4".  (This will give you the dimensions of 2 1/4" for the top & bottom, and 3/8" for the sides with an extra 3/4" to close the flap (by making it 6" even you can get 2 pieces out of a 12" width)

2. Adhere stamped panel to the front of the scored piece (one of the wider pieces).  Fold all the scored lines, matching up the middles of the front and back panels and punch a hole near the top through both layers...I used a 1/8" hole punch for narrow ribbon.

3. Pull ribbon through the hole and all the way out, matching the ends so they are the same length.  Insert gum so that the end of the pack is resting on the top of the ribbon and push down into the cardstock, which will pull the ribbon down with the gum.  I then adhered the side shut with mono-adhesive, but Sticky Strip would also be a good choice.

Once the gum is all the way down in and hidden, knot the ribbon.  The gum is pulled out by pulling up on the ribbon.  Pretty simple!  If this still doesn't make sense, try going to the Splitcost Stampers website to see the Slider card tutorial by Beate Johns.  Click ----->HERE.

Got Milk? box with directions

Isn't he adorable?  This is the little piggie that I love so much from the CC Designs latest release Love Ya Lots.  The cow idea isn't mine...the credit goes to Tricia of Simply Stamping,  who is also on the ATS Design Team.

So inside the little box is what else?  Cow Tails!  Hehe! He is stamped with Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber and colored in with copic markers.  The pattern Paper is from last years retired SU! collection. The little box is super simple, and I even did a mini-tutorial for you.

Cut a piece of cardstock to 3.5" x 7".

Score at 1", 3", and 5".  This will give you the triangle with the 3 side being 2" tall each.  The extra inch is your flap to glue to the back.  a bit of mono or glue stick will work fine, since it will be tied up with some ribbon.  I used the wide Regal Rose grosgrain and retired narrow Chocolate Chip.  I also tied up the cowtails inside with a bit of ribbon so they wouldn't scoot around.  (I used 5 candies for the perfect fit)

These will be the perfect size little gifts for my girls to give their friends...I guess they don't really do Valentines anymore in Middle School?  But candy is always appreciated by teen girls :)  TFL!

New CC Designs stamps go live at midnight!

Here's my last sneak peek before the release tonight.  All That Scraps is releasing 2 new sets at midnight tonight (EST)...they are Love Ya Lots and Love Ya Much.  They each have 3 adorable little animals, 3 sayings, the word "valentine" and a small heart.  And the best part is Christine's sets are very affordable and shipping is FREE on any order over $10!!

This has to be my favorite project thus far.  Ive been thinking about it all week, but had to go buy some gum to play with :)  Its a slider card around a pack of Stride gum.  The main piece is Heidi Grace pattern Paper.  The next layers are all Stampin' Up!: Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, and Shimmer White.  The little bunny and the saying are stamped in Palette Hybrid Noir and colored with my copics.  I also added a bit of Sakura clear glaze over her nose and tail and a dab of clear Sakura Gelly roll glitter around her ears.  The small Celery bow was attached with mini glue dots.

Another Sneaky Peeky

Day 2 of the Sneak Peeks...heres LuLu all ready for Valentines Day.  This stamp is from "Love Ya Lots" which will be released Friday night at midnight.  Head over to All That Scraps to check out other CC Designs stamp sets in the meantime!  Christine also stocks tons of accessories and tools in her store, and the best part is that shipping is always FREE for any order over $10!  How cool is that?

Back to the card...LuLu is stamped in Palette Hybrid Noir and colored with copic markers: C3, C5, BV00, RV02, and YG03.  I also added some bling with the pink and purple spica glitter pens on the flower.  The white background was run through my Cuttlebug with the Heart Blocks folder.  I had to use 2 pieces because of the width, then they are pieced together behind the ribbon.  The ribbons are both from Stampin' Up!: basic gray tafetta and pink gingham.  The sentiment (also from Love Ya Lots) was punched out with the SU! word window punch...it was a perfect fit! and then attached to the bow with  a mini safety pin.  The gray brads are from my stash (Queen & Co maybe??)  The heart border at the bottom is from Lizzie Anne Designs L'Amour set and is stamped with the SU! Whisper White pad.

My first Sneak Peek

I'm back after a week or so off, thanks for waiting for me!  Ive spent many hours just hanging out with my kids and have a case of Wii-itis to show for it!

I did sneak in a bit of scrapbooking time last week, and I'll share some of that another time.  One of my holiday traditions is to play catch up the days after Christmas while the kiddos are all entertained!  We have been talking about making another Disney trip this spring, so guess what?  I better finish the Disney album from a year and a half ago :)

For today though, I have a sneaky peeky for you!  These cute little birdies or "tweethearts" can be found in one of the new releases from CC Designs scheduled for the first week of January.  The set is called "Love Ya' Much" and has a few other cute critters as well.  I'll try to post a different one each day this week ;)  Check out All That Scraps to see the other adorable Little Bit kits that are available now.

For this card I used my brand new Nestabilities...courtesy of my friend Heather and my sweet daughter Rachael who had been saving allowance for gifts for everyone for months.  I layered the Classic Rectangle shape onto 2 scalloped rectangles-one from the small set and one from the large set.  I stamped the birds with Palette Burnt Umber and colored them in with my new Copic markers!  Santa brought me a Set A of ciao markers :)  Yipee!!  I used Y00, Y06, B00, B02, BG01, E33, and E37.  (some are from set A, some are ones that I already had)  The strip of pattern paper behiind the main image is Daisy D's Girlfriends Dot in Ocean Lime. I layered a piece of May Arts Ribbon  (white dots on celery) over that piece and hung the tag from the faux knot.  The cardstock base and layers are Bazzill from my stash.  Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a very Merry Christmas!  -Cyndi

Last Minute Christmas Gifts from me & Taylor

Middle School: Gifts or no gifts for the teachers?  My son felt like an idiot last year when I sent stuff with him so I had intended not to make a big deal about gifts this year for the girls.  The last night before school got out Taylor though decided to make a bunch of cute projects (see below) for her friends, so I asked if she and Rachael wanted gifts for their teachers.  Both girls said sure, some kids were bringing stuff in, but most were not,but they would like to.  Hmm...what do you do at the last minute?

I had made a few of these cute little tins a couple of weeks ago and had bought a ton more from the Target Dollar Spot.  So, I whipped these up and threw in a bunch of Christmas candy.  Perfect.  The little tins are so darling...they are actually only about 3"x4".  I covered them with Creative Imaginations paper on the front, back and around the side panel.  The main image is from Baby Its Cold Outside by My Favorite Things.   You can see the set at All That Scraps.  I stamped it on Stampers Select cardstock from Papertrey and colored it in with a mix of Copics, SU! markers, and Spica glitter pens.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The ribbon is all from my stash...some from Michael's, some SU!, some May Arts.

Here are the little boxes that Taylor made the other night.  She is 12 and did these completely by herself.  She even went online to my favorites and found the The Cat's Pajamas website, where Julee Tilman had created the project of the month on the home page.  Taylor printed out the instructions and created these:

Aren't they adorable?  I'm so proud of her..shes definately my daughter, LOL!  She used stamps from Wintertime Fun for the outside and the labels and colored them with my SU! markers (she knows not to even look at my copics!)  Inside are Dark Chocolate Hershey Nuggets...yummy!!

A Wish Filled Christmas and Big News!

I have busting to share my news for almost a week now...I have been asked to be on my first Design Team by All That Scraps!  I am sooo excited, and its been killing me not to say anything!!

All That Scraps is a great online store!  If you've never been, click HERE.  Christine carries tons of the latest pattern paper, nestabilities, copics, cuttlebug, and more.  But of course she also has stamps!  Among the many brands that she carries is CC Designs, adorable little stamps of her own creation!  I've become a recent addict and I can't wait to get my hands on more of this fun little sets!

This card is made with Lucky's Christmas Wishes and Winter Playtime.  I used precut cardstock from a huge pile of leftover class supplies from a couple of years ago.  I have no idea what the original card was, but it all worked out great.  I just added the snowflake brads and resized the main image a bit (and of course added a few more layers).  The colors are Real Red, Bordering Blue, Basic Black, and Naturals White (all Stampin' Up!...also the corner is from the WinterBright SS kit)

FS44 Winter Lulu

Here's my entry for SCS Featured Stamper Challenge from Sunday.  This week was Charlene, or LilluvsStampin...she has an awseome gallery!  I picked this card to CASE.

For my card I used one of the newest little sets from C.C. Designs called Winter Playtime.  You can get this set over at All That Scraps.  The sets are adorable, and the best part is they are very affordable!  I used the Lulu image...she is soooo stinkin' cute!  I colored her in with my Copic markers and filled in with Bashful Blue Stampin' Write since I didn't have a good pale blue (yet!!)  Her nose is all cute and wet looking like a real little kitty...I used the Sakura Clear Glaze pen (also available at All That Scraps.  It is soooo cool....just like Crystal Effects, only in a fine tip pen...How cool is that??  She also has fluffy fur on her coat, compliments of my White Liquid Applique.

Lulu is stamped on Whisper WHite, then backed on Certainly Celery and Basic Gray.  I did a bit of paper piercing on the corners.  She's then layered onto a piece of Bashful Ble that had a run through my Cuttlebug Machine with the Snowflakes Embossing folder.  The little words are also in the Winter Playtime set.   I stamped it then punched it out with my small oval punch.  The card base (Basic Gray) is punched with the large oval punch so the smaller punch shows though the frame.  Other supplies used: Soft Subtles buttons, Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, Silver cording (all SU!)
