Here's another little card using the My Favorite Things set "Icing on the Cake".  There was a challenge to make a card in any shape besides a square or rectangle.  I was thinking circle or triangle, So, why not a party hat?

My hat is folded at the top-there is about a 1" border-then its scored down about a half inch so it will unfold nicely.  The base is textured Soft Sky that was stamped in Cool Carribean with the star background from the set.  I then stamped the frame with Lilac and the cake with my SU! markers in Positively Pink, Lovely Lilac, Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore.  I traced over the green swirl and the purple frame with my Spica glitter pens to add a touch of sparkle.  The bottom layers are just strips of cardstock...including the new scallop border that is all the rage right now.  The sentiment is from the same set and I also colored it with my markers.

Not one of my fav all time cards, but it turned out really cute in person.  Thanks for looking!  -Cyndi

SFYTT Happy Cupcake Day!

Here's the closeup first :)  I wanted to do jen's sketch since yesterday when I saw it.  I started it last night but couldn't seem to get it just right, KWIM?  I used My favorite Things set "Icing on the Cake" for the background stars, the cupcakes, and the sentiments. 

The cupacakes were stamped on Papertrey Stampers Select cardstock with Palette Hybrid Noir ink.  I colored them in with copics B32, YG06, and YR07.  Then I added Waterfall stickles to the icing and Sakura clear glaze pen to the (orange,hehe)cherries.  The cardstock (Only Orange, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, and Green Galore), green ribbon, and punches are all from Stampin' Up!  The brads are bazzill, and the orange ribbon is from Michael's.

Last Minute Christmas Gifts from me & Taylor

Middle School: Gifts or no gifts for the teachers?  My son felt like an idiot last year when I sent stuff with him so I had intended not to make a big deal about gifts this year for the girls.  The last night before school got out Taylor though decided to make a bunch of cute projects (see below) for her friends, so I asked if she and Rachael wanted gifts for their teachers.  Both girls said sure, some kids were bringing stuff in, but most were not,but they would like to.  Hmm...what do you do at the last minute?

I had made a few of these cute little tins a couple of weeks ago and had bought a ton more from the Target Dollar Spot.  So, I whipped these up and threw in a bunch of Christmas candy.  Perfect.  The little tins are so darling...they are actually only about 3"x4".  I covered them with Creative Imaginations paper on the front, back and around the side panel.  The main image is from Baby Its Cold Outside by My Favorite Things.   You can see the set at All That Scraps.  I stamped it on Stampers Select cardstock from Papertrey and colored it in with a mix of Copics, SU! markers, and Spica glitter pens.  The sentiment is from the same set.  The ribbon is all from my stash...some from Michael's, some SU!, some May Arts.

Here are the little boxes that Taylor made the other night.  She is 12 and did these completely by herself.  She even went online to my favorites and found the The Cat's Pajamas website, where Julee Tilman had created the project of the month on the home page.  Taylor printed out the instructions and created these:

Aren't they adorable?  I'm so proud of her..shes definately my daughter, LOL!  She used stamps from Wintertime Fun for the outside and the labels and colored them with my SU! markers (she knows not to even look at my copics!)  Inside are Dark Chocolate Hershey Nuggets...yummy!!

Rainy Day Friend

I have some new samples to upload, but in the meantime, here's one from last week that I forgot about.  This was for the MFT sketch challenge on SCS last week.  It uses one of the brand-spankin' new sets from the December release called Rain or Shine.  Visit All That Scraps or My Favorite Things to see more of their stamp sets.

I used Piggy Tales Ba, Ba, Black Sheep paper (also found at All That Scraps) for the background pieces and also to paper piece the rain coat.  The rest is colored in with my copic markers.  The sentiment is also from the same MFT set, Rain or Shine.

Other suppplies: cardstock: Papertrey Stampers Select ( a must have!); ink: Palette Hybrid Noir; ribbon: SU!; buttons: Atumn Leaves.

By the Seashore

A couple of quick cards for you tonight.  Here are 2 of the cards that I submitted for the My Favorite Guest Designer contest over at SCS.  The challenge was to create an ATC, then mount it onto a card. 

This one uses "By the Seashore" from My Favorite Things.  She is cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, as is the little bird.  Hodgepodge, Guava ribbon, DSP (from the Be Happy Simply Scrappin' kit) and cardstock are Stampin' Up!; image was colored with copic markers.

The 2nd card uses the same set, but I went with a brighter, more sunny colors scheme this time. 

I used Stampin' Write markers for this one and highlighted the outlines with my new Spica glitter pens...they were the perfect shades and added just a touch of sparkle.   The main image was run through my Cuttlebug using my Nestabilities Dies.  You can find them at various places including All ThatScraps.  The sentiment was punched out with Stampin' Up! circle and scalloped circle punches.  The pattern at the bottom was created using the circle stamps from "Build A Bouquet", also by MFT.  Ribbon is from my stash.

MFTSC06: Figgy Bouquet

For this weeks My Favorite Things sketch I ended up having to flip the sketch over.  Nothing seemed to look quite right the other way, so I rotated the card left 90 degrees.  Much better!  I used one of my new MFT sets...Build A Bouquet.  You can get this set HERE at the MFT website.  There are sooo many options with this set, flowers, topiaries, snowmen, trees, and I'm sure more. 

I used one of the flower images to create a poinsettia with Cranberry Crisp (SU! retired).  The little flower image is stamped in Basic Brown, and the leaves in Always Artichoke.  The "family" sentiment was inked on the Tres Chic SU! background stamp and then punched with the large oval, which happens to fit perfectly behind the oval hodgepodge :)  The pattern paper is Figgy Pudding from Basic Grey.  Part of the sketch was a wavy edge...so I used the scallops on the print and cut them out...there are actually a couple layered if you look closely.  The card is finished with some Chocolate chip taffeta ribbon from SU! and a couple of dabs of Cinnamon stickles in the center of the flower.

Happy Birthday!

This little card sits on my desk, waiting to go to a friend for her birthday.  I can’t post it to my blog yet, as she will see it!  I knew that I wanted to use a My Favorite Things set, because both Heather and I have gotten bitten by the MFT…pretty bad!!  You can go see all the awesomely cute sets HERE  at their website.  I love their stamps, first because they are clear acrylic, lets get a big woohoo!, but also they are just so stinkin’ cute and are very reasonably priced to boot!

For this card I picked “Say Charge”…I’ve been wanting it for some time now, and I finally had an excuse to buy it!  I used the MFT sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers to get started, and decided to go with the Pretty Wasabi color challenge too.  The card has a little hidden pocket inside holding a gift card from where else?  Starbuck’s…gotta have a mocha fix!

Other details for this card: Polka dot paper from KI Memories (also used to paper-piece the shopping bags), Wild Wasabi cardstock was embossed with my Spots & Dots Cuttlebug folder, the other images were colored with SU! Markers in Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, and Blush Blossom.

The whole set of Spica atyou Glitter pens by Copic!  OMG!  I have been wanting these, but the last 2 times I ordered from All That Scraps they were out.  I guess she was smart and got on the waitlist.  (You can visit their website HERE)  Cool!  They are soo pretty and fun to use, I’ll try to share a sample later today?  Thanks Heather, you rock!!  Also, she stamped this really cute card…great minds think alike on the MFT thing, huh?  She used "You Take the Cake".  Isn't it gorgeous?!  I love the little bit of stickles on the cake!  (She used Copic markers to color it and SU! My Favorite Things SC04

I made 2 cards for this weeks MFTSC... the first is using Boho Blossoms.  I think the card turned out pretty, but i'm a bit frustrated trying to use my vanilla pad on the detail image...I tried mutiple attemps and it kept smudging.  Very frustrating indeed. 

I stamped the solid part of the flower in Cranberry Crisp on Cranberry Crisp cardstock.  Then I stamped the detail flower over that with Very VAnilla Craft ink.  I cut all of these out and added some pearls from my Pretties kit.  They were too white, so I antiqued them a bit with one of my copic markers.  I love the sketch this week!  I started pulling out all kinds of fun papers, and ended up with these... the Cosmo Cricket Christmas line from last year.

The next card I'm not quite so wild about, LOL, I kept messing with the layers, but I wanted to use some of that striped paper from the FAll Flowers DSP pack.  The other colors on the card are Groovy Guava, Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, and SAhara SAnd.  The choc chip added a bit of pop, but I need to go back and add another layer of it under something else now, urgh.  The little lion and the sentiment is from MFT Its a Jungle Out There.  I colored him in with my WC wonder Crayons and a blender.   Thanks for visiting.  More later, I still have a whole stack of samples from this weekends productivity spurt!!

Beate's Weekend Sketch

This is one of the cards I made last night...I got on a roll with my new My FAvorite Things set... Its a Jungle Out There!  You can see this set and more at their website HERE.  I started with Beate's sketch for this weekend.  You can see her sketch and sample at her blog, Fresh & Fun.  She has the most awesome samples!

All of the stamps are from the same MFT set.  I used SU! colors for the cardstock and the ink: Blue BAyou, Always Artichoke, and River Rock.  I used my PAllette Noir to stamp the images on SU! Naturals VAnilla and then colored them in with a Blender pen and my WAtercolor Crayons, which haven't seen much use lately :(  The card base is 4.25 x 8.5 folded in half to make the square card, and I used my Coluzzle to make the circle.  Pretty easy, but I think it turned out kinda cute!

Boho Hearts

When I saw this weeks color challenge, I knew I wanted to play around with these gorgeous hearts from My Favorite Things.  The set is called "Boho Blossoms" and also has flowers and lots of little sentiments in thesame set.  They are made of clear acrylic, so it was pretty easy to match up the 2 images on the hearts.  I used the overlay heart image to stamp the background on the soft sky.  The other colors are Basic Grey and Purely Pomegranate.
