Scrappy Sketch Sunday

Good Morning!  I am back after a couple of weeks off with the next scrappy sketch for you!  Just a couple more weeks til my kids are back in school and life gets on a routine again and I will go back to weekly with these, I promise!

You know the drill by now <wink>...if you want to play along please send me a link so we can all see what you created!  Feel free to tweak the layout to fit your photos...or to just use one page.  Even I can't stick to my own sketch.  But I was pretty close this time :)

This week run over and check out my gal Lynn's sample...Libby and Heather both had a crazy week.

The first page turned out to be my favorite of the 2 by far.  I used the awesome Cogsmo paper that my buddy Heather (different heather) got me.  It is so perfect with these pics from Tomorrowland/Buzz.   I only used the papers and some buttons...thought the little cut out was perfect for an embellie.  The caption on this page reads... "SPace Ranger Spin...Our entire family's favorite Disney ride! "  And that is the truth...we would go late at night when most of the normal parents of little kids had theirs already tucked in for the night...and we could ride the kiddie rides over and over!  That is my best-kept Disney secret!

 

 

 

 

Here is page 2 for ya...I also pulled in a bit of chipboard for this one.  I used the pretty new monogram letters from CTMH...you get a bunch of different fonts of the same letter (of course I had to have the whole alpha!)  I also like that they are white chipboard and easier to color than the kraft color that SU! carries.  I simply took asponge dauber and a classic ink pad and voila!  Instant color!

CSS23: One Mission

{I'm sorry I am late.  I have had no internet late night or this morning...urgh...finally back on}

Here is the sketch for the week.  And as usual...even I have veered off from the original, so feel free to interpret it to fit your needs!  I wanted something long and squiggly for the "lightening bolts" but that is all I could find on my shape list...so bonus to anyone who actually can/does use the bolts, LOL.

This is my 2nd attempt at the sketch...I like it way better.  I pulled out some pics from our annual Texas Roadhouse Managing Partner conference and this fun and fresh Scenic Route kit that I had from an online Scrapbbok KOM.  See, I am still trying to use up the stuff hiding in my stash!! 

Here are a couple of closups:

I used the graph pattern paper and the spiral punch from SU! to create a journaling piece.  I also did some bullet-type journaling around the entire page and over the title.

And this is the fun chipboard 'gear' that came with the kit.  I inked it with a red pad using a sponge dauber.  tabs and gear source unknown...sorry.

 

 

 

 

Here is the first page attempt.  I used somne pics of my cat Roxie when she had her claws removed.  She was so pitiful in her little "casts" and everyone babied her.

All items on this page were from the CTMH kit Blue Ribbon.  The swirls stamps are featured with the western paper kit, but I don't remember the name.  The chipboard letters i LOVE...the new monograms...only 3.25 for each letter and you get like 7 or 8 differnet sizes and fonts for each letter.  Way cool.

CSS22: Michael

 OK, here we go!!  The 2 pager first :)  From the minute I drew the sketch I knew that I wanted to use this fun paper from Kaleidoscope that I have had for like 2 years!!  I had no idea what pics I was going to use, but started laying it out anyway.  The page started on Soft Sky..then I pulled out these pics of Michael and decided to change the background to white.  (See, I never adhere anything until the whole thing is basically done...I change my mind a LOT!!)

The other thing that I knew I wanted to use was the fun little "Remember when" stamp over in the corner.  Its a Unitystamp from the kit "Bliss & a Birdie", the June Kit of the Month.  It has been begging me to get it inky all month!

Its such a fun little stamp.  It was kind of getting lost in the pale but oh-so-funky green, so I sponged the edges with some blue to help it pop a bit.  (thanks to Faithfor reminding me that I have a whole drawer full of sponge daubers that I have been neglecting).  I also stamped the image again on a scrap of the pattern paper and pieced the arrow back onto the image for a little extra somun-somun.  The circle stamp is again from the fun "Crcle of Thanks" kit from Unity...I stamped it on the orange PP, then randomly colored in a few of the dots with a white gel pen.

The hugely fun "M" is from a pack of chipboard that I picked up 2 years ago at CK Convention...it is from Rusty Pickle.  I have the whole alphabet and I have been seriously hoarding it!!  Shame on me, it is too fun to hide away!!  I covered the M with some of the same PP and then did some major sponging on the edges so it would pop out!!  The rest is pretty self-explanatory...I added a bunch of buttons, some clips, and ribbon then spelled out the rest of his name with CTMH letters that I just love!!

the Scrappy Sketch is back!

I am back with a new Scrappy sketch!!   I meant to take off just one week, which turned into 2...sorry.  I will do every other week for the next couple of weeks...it is much easier on me and my cohorts til the kids go back to school!

The basics...please play along with us!  No need to follow the sketch to a tee...none of us ever do...it is just a springboard for your creativity!  You can use one page or both or even turn it into a card if you want!!  Just come back and link up what you created as a comment to this post so we can all see it!  If you upload to a public gallery like Splitcoast use keyword CSS or CSS22.

ScrappySketch #21: Believe

Hey guys!  I had this post all typed and ready a while back, hit save, and <<poof!!>> it was gone.  That hasn't happened to me in a while, but its so dog-gone frustrating!!  So, I will not be quite so verbose this time around.

I am switching things up this week and reversing the posting order...layout first, then sketch.

I finally got my Unity handles this weekend and let me just say....whoa!! Hold the press!  These things are da bomb!  They will require a whole other post :)

But...I did use all Unity stamps on this page, 2 kits plus the brand spankin' new Kit of the Month!!  (only available in June!)  The rest of the materials are pretty much from a Scrapbook kit of the month that I bought and filed away last year.  Well, it wanted to be used today!

As usual, I didn't even stick to my own sketch...which brings me back to wanting to talk about the sketches.  When I started these, and still now, I wanted to provide a sketch that was more of a skeleton...just basic placement of the major elements of the page.  I am not adding in every last ribbon, brad, scallop border, and mat.  I am leaving those to you.  I tend to get side tracked by those elements instead of the photos when I look at a sketch.  Also, I have always taken way too many photos and wanted the sketches to provide space for many pics.

I am just now starting to embrace the ideaof 1-photo, 1-page, but I know that many of you are not.  And I am still not totally there!!  So for now, I will keep providing you my basic-many-photo sketches.  Please let me know if you all still like these and use these.  I have not as as many people participating lately.

Scrappy Sketch #20

I can't believe I have been doing this for 20 weeks now!  It seems like I just started yesterday :)  I can't be very chAatty tonight, so here is this weeks sketch for you.

A good scattering of 4x6's for you this week....or change them to any size you want, add more, etc.  Just take the sketch as a jump start and look inside for your inner creative angel...it is there, I promise!!  Please send me a link if you use the sketch, I love to see everyone's creations...and not many of you have been playing along lately.

For my page I had no idea what I wanted to do so I went to my stack of photos to be scrapped and looked for some that had a lot with the correct vertical vs. horizontal orientation.  I came up with these from Christmas morning of the kids and dad with our new WII.  everyone has enjoyed that thing soooo much I just can't even tell you!

I pulled out my retired pack of  Winter Bright. (colors: Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, and Pretty in Pink)  I still love the pattern paper in that pack and wish it had come separate so I could have more of it.  I had a couple of packs and ended up with a ton of the stickers so I hated to order another.  Oh well.  There will be more fabulous Christmas paper this year I am sure :)  I also used the die cut stickers from the pack and  a ton of buttons.  I stamped the wii letters with the retired Tall Tales alphabet with white ink on white then cut them out.  I also once again outlined everything with a black jounaling pen...don't know why, but I really like this look: but it makes everything really stand out!

I have to do a quick post...we had suprise company overnight and are on the way to a birthday party, and as usual I am behind!!  I do have my sample ready..he,he, but its not edited and ready to post...sorry!  I will get it up as soon as I get back from the birthday party :)

Scrappy Sketch #18

 

 

Its that time again...Saturday morning and time to scrap!  Go hide from your kids, your cats, your husband, and your tivo and pick up some pictures:)  I have a new sketch for you!   This one is very straightforward...lots of pictures, no circles, LOL.  The one I was planning to do was going to be quite a challenge, but in fact it was too much of a challenge for me to get the stinkin sketch in a program...urgh.  Note to self: must learn to use better software for this.

For my pages I used some new Close to My Heart papers and stamps...I know, this is my normal SU! weekly post, so don't get mad.  But there are just too many awesome products out there.  I promise to do at least 1 SU! project this week:)  The stamps Whimsical Wings (and Enjoy Every Moment by SU!) and the paper pack is Blue Ribbon.  I also added some Bold bright brads and white rick-rack.  I used Cloud scissors for the border.

Turtle Talk with Bruce

First of all I want to thank everyone who came this weekend to scrapbook!  I had a blast and I hope everyone else did too!  And, I know you guys got a LOT accomplished and thats what matters, yeah?   For everyonw else, sorry I didn't get my page up yesterday.  But I have it for you now!  This was the sketch that I used for the Nemo page yesterday.

These are photos from Epcot 2 years ago. The cardstock is: Breeze by CTMH for the background; and Basic Black, Taken with Teal, and Green Galore SU!   Carribean is a very close SU! color but I can't buy it anyone and didn't have enough for the class.

The stamps...aren't they fun??!  They are from a new company H & M Stamps.  The set I used is Sea Life, but Heather also has 2 other sets right now.  Her next release is in about a week :)  The main reason I wanted this set is because of the fabulous dolphin image for my Discovery Cove pages, but the turtle is just sooo Crush!!  This set also comes with some great and basic everyday sentiments.

Scrappy Sketch #16 & No internet

OK...Tornados in our neck of the woods yesterday...means no power...means no internet...means no blogging.  Sigh.  I am missing reading my daily blog fixes.  We are one of the lucky ones that now have power again, half of our county is still without.  The cable company says at LEAST 24 more hours until I am online again.  So, I am visiting at my moms tonight and am doing a quickie post.

Here is this weeks sketch for you guys :)  You will see from my sample that I took the liberty to change my shapes to candles instead of stars.  The sketch is always just a starting point.  Let your creativity take you away!

Scrappy Sketch #15 with Blog candy!

Are you ready for a new sketch?  This one is pretty straight forward for you.  Again, I am leaving off all the little elements and only including the basics.  I think it helps me to be more creative when I see less on a sketch...just the layout.  Then I can put whatever elements on the page that inspire me.  Also its easier to move around or change the photos when that is what the sketch is focusing on :)  Make sense?

Here is my page.  It is one of the 3 layouts that my Scrapbook clubs will be doing this month.  Everyone bought either Crew Kids Boy or Crew Kids Girl last month so that we can make the pages this month.

Mine is using Crew Kids Boy simply Scrappin' from stampin' Up!  The colors in the kit (cardstock and cutouts) are Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky, and Basic Gray.  I just love these kits, especially now that they include More pattern paper!!  I also added a bunch of the Anchored rubons that I had leftover from a different class.  The only other thing not from the kit is the ribbon: Striped Pumkin Pie Grosgrain and Double stitched wild Wasabi are both SU!, the Gray wide grosgrain is from an online store??that my friend Heather bought me.

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #14

Sorry I am so late today!  I had a sketch ready for when I was out of town this week, but I was just NOT loving it, so started over last night.  I was still hoping to get it together before this afternoon, but, hey, you know!!

So here is your sketch for the week.  Its a easy block of photos on each side of the page.  I always seem to center things on my page, so I thought I would try scooching it all to the center for a change.  I like the way my page came out, so hopefully the layout can work for you too!  I really enjoy looking at what everyone does with these.  and don't worry if you are working on one from weeks ago, thats ok!  I just want to share some ideas so that you can get caught up!  (LOL, whats that?)  So, this week is CSS14 if uploading to a public gallery.

Here is my take, this may be one of the spreads for the W-S scrap day if you local gals like it, leave me a comment!  These are photos from last Thanksgiving, and yes, my girls are in tank tops, this is NC...fall is still summer here most of the time!

I started with a bunch of scraps of the Fall Flowers DSP from Stampin' Up!  I adore this pack, the colors are so fresh and unique together.  Although I used Chocolate Chip for my background, its not actually in the paper...I just wanted it to all jump off the page.  The colors of the patterns are what I used for my leaves and other embellishments...Soft Sky, Old Olive, and Sahara Sand (I didn't pull out the Really Rust).  The leaves are from Seasonal Whimsy, the little words are from Be Happy, and the letters are Headline Alphabet.  Also used: Square punches, Circle punches, Word Window punch, Neutral and Earth buttons, Olive twill.  Below are the pages separate for easier viewing.

Its Time for Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch!

Its a rainy, dreay Staurday and I am off in a bit for my little ones Birthday party...outside...Hah!!  We may not be putt-putting for the fun of it today, but stuck in their arcade.  Oh well, the kids will still have fun, right??  Fingers and toes crossed...

But, hey, Its that time again!  Here is this weeks edition, and on a new day :)  Please play along with us and don't forget  to use CSS13 if uploading to a public gallery ;)  Also, Remember that this is just a starting point, feel free to change it up as you need to for your photos. 

BUT, my challenge to you this week (sorry, I didn't get this to you in time Heather) is to enlarge one of your photos.  It gives the eye a place to be drawn to, and really highlights one of the pieces of your story!  I usually print all of my photos at a cheap online source like Snapfish, then I blow up what I want to at home on my printer at a fraction of the cost...plus I don't always know which ones I want bigger til I start a page, KWIM?? 

The stars can be any embelly...I need a new program to design in with more shape choices.  Also, check out Heather's blog for her take on this weeks sketch ---> Stamp with Heather.  Here is my layout for the week:

Didn't this turn out fun??  These are pics of Michael on his 5th birthday.  I used SU!s Summer Picnic DSP for the strips along the top and bottom as well as to cover some of the chipboard.  The rest of the chipboard was sponged with a dauber and classic ink colors.  I then stamped over the chipboard in the same color to get a darker version, and added some dots with my gel pen on two of them.  The colors of cs and ink are Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Old Olive.  I also added some striped ribbon and hand-cut corners.  (All supplies are SU!)  Here is the 2nd page:

Sorry I have such a bad glare on the photos, I tried taking the pic a few different ways as usual, but this photo paper seems worse than what I usually use.  It has a bit of a matte quality, which I would think would have less glare, but, alas, not so.

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #12 & 2 layouts!!

Here is this weeks sketch for you!  Pretty straight forward for those who don't like to cut a lot of shapes!  As you can see though, I am still on the circle thing :)  I just LOVE my new circle cutter...it is the Curvy Cutter by EK Success.  I got the circles on sale at Target a few weeks back for only $16, and the glass mat at Michael's with a coupon for just $9.  I have been eyeing this system for a while now, and after using Heather P's I fell in love and had to have it!

This weeks sketch is based on one of Becky Fleck's Page Maps.  Here is her original map from September of 2007:   I love going through her archives...there are sooooo many sketches there!  But I think some of us, me included, get a bit overwhelmed at such a detailed  sketch.  You feel as if you need the same elements, same size photos, same exact layout.  The thing with sketches is that they are a STARTING point...you can go in any direction with them. 

So, I minimized this sketch a bit and changed it a bit so that maybe it is easier to visualize YOUR photos and embellishments on the layout.

For this week you guys actually get 2 layouts!  The first is one that Heather and I put together last week for a class she is doing.  The supplies are all Close to My Heart (thats what she sells).  The paper is from a pack called Sweet Pea.  I was hunting for a layout for her and stumbled on this one.  I told her what I was thinking with simplifying it and she jumped in on it with the flower idea and moving the title.  I hunted through pics since we were at my house and found these of Easter morning this year...the colors were off so I printed them in B/W, but the theme was perfect for the paper pack that Heather had chosen.      

The title is stamped with Breeze using Boutique alphabet, the Easter is from the March word Puzzle stamped in Kiwi.  The flowers were dabbed with the breeze pad using a dauber, and the centers are unched with 1/2 and 3/4 inch circle punches.  Very simple and beautiful result, don't you think?

Next, I just had to have a sample for you using Stampin' Up! products, Ive been a bit neglectful (like my new word??) lately.  I started with a Kraft base and used the new Summer Picnic DSP from the Occassions mini catalog.  The other cardstock colors are based on the one print: Bashful Blue, Real Red, and Old Olive.  I used the Die cut blooms for the flowers in the circles and added some of the gorgeous new Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware jumbo brads. 

I originally had some cute strwberries on the page instead of the fowers but couldn't find any pics to go with that theme!  SO, now we have a home for the hamster pics!  Meet Remy and Emile, Rachael's newest rodents :)    I stamped the letters with Big Deal alphabet and then cut them out.  It all looked kinda blah so I added a bunch of dots with my White gel pen, you can see this better in the closeup below.  The ribbon is Striped Red grosgrain, and I even added a rubon to one of the photos!

CSS11 Making Faces

Wow!  I hate being behind on my own challenge, LOL.  I am really pleased with what I came up with though!  This page set was made using the Stampin' Up! Crew Kids boy Simply Scrappin' kit, and will thus be a part of my May club for the Tuesday group :)  everyone in that club bought the kit this month so that we can make pages with it next month.

The background cardstock is Basic Gray and the mats are all Bashful Blue.  I used all 4 designs of the pattern paper in the kit and a bunch of the sticky die cuts.  Everything on the page is from the kit, except the Pumpkin Striped ribbon and the chipboard pieces...the corner is from On Board Blossoms & basics, and the letters are from On Board Lots of Letters.  I inked all the pieces directly with my Basic Gray pad.  The cicles were cut with my Curvy Cutter.

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #11

Hey guys!  First I have to apologize for being gone the last 2 days during the CC Designs Sneak Peeks.  Turns out I bought a new car yesterday!  The gas on the Suburban has been eating me alive...I drive over 100 miles a day just running the kids....ouch.  So, I am the proud new owner of a Toyota Matrix!  It is so stinkin' cute!  I will snap a pic and share it later :)  In the meantime...here is today's sketch and I'll share some more CC Designs cards a bit later today.  Don't forget that today the new stamps are for sale over at All That Scraps...Christine released 5 new adorable sets and a new Big ol' Background!!

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #10

  OK, First I will start you guys with the sketch.  Pretty straight forward this week for those who have a hard time with anything other than 4x6 photos!!

Please play along and send me a link to your creation so I can see it!  Use CSS10 if uploading to SCS.  Remeber, you can flip it, rework it, or even use just one side of the layout...this is just a starting point :)  Normally Heather Summers plays along with me, but I was REALLY late in getting the sketch to her and she's leaving for Bermuda!!  So, check in with her blog, but there may be no page this week or next.  She has plenty more there to look at though!  Her blog is ---> Stamp with Heather.

This sketch was based on a card in a SU! catalog many years ago that I turned into a cute page, that I then CASED from myself to create a page for the last Scrapbook Day, then finally the sketch!  But I thought it was cheating to not create something new so...here is what I came up with using a bunch of photos from Christmas when we gave the kids a Wii. 

I didn't do any stamping on the page because I had this great kit from Scenic Route that was begging me to use it!  It is the Rockland collection...papers, pattern cardstock, die-cuts, chipboard, and stickers...all in one kit.  And CUTE stuff!!  I did add a bit of Olive twill from SU! and a bunch of buttons from Foo-fa-la.

But, since you guys are all stampers, here is the page that I did for the Scrapbook day...no photos yet, cause I think I managed to get all my beach stuff done what with all the pages for classes lately!  I will probably use some extras on it for one of the kids' books.     

Ingrediants: Kraft, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Green Galore cardstock; Red, Pumpkin, Turquoise, Galore, and Basic Black pads; Basic brads; Pumpkin striped Grosgrain ribbon; Life's a Breeze set...all from Stampin' Up!

So, have fun with the sketch, I hope you can get lots of photos on it!  I hope to have a fun and slightly challenging one for next week for you guys <wink>

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #9

Here is this weeks sketch.  Its based on one of the pages from a class I did with my clubs this month using the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit.  This particular page turned out to be my favorite, so I reversed it into a sketch for you guys.  (Remember, I am still in Disney and can;t do any stamping or scrapping for a few more days!)

This and the next 3 layouts are from the class: we used Summer Days Simply Scrappin' and Anchored rubons.  The gals each made 4 2-page layouts using the materials from the kit…with the addition of a few pieces of cardstock, ribbon, and brads from me.  They still ended up with 2 whole sheets of pattern paper (one of each design), a whole sheet of Bashful Blue, and a ton of die cuts…perfect to go home and whip up some cards!

Two of the layouts were pretty easy and quick for times sake (I wanted the class to take under 2 hours).  These are the red and Pumpkin backgrounds…all the cardstock is from the kit.  (The kit contains 8 sheets of textured cardstock: 2 each of Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Bashful Blue, and Wild Wasabi; 3 sheets each of 2 different pattern papers, and 6 sheets of self-adhesive die-cuts)

The next layout is using 2 sheets of Chocolate Chip that I provided them for the backgrounds.  We used the Bashful Blue cs from the kit for mats.  The last layout was my  other favorite…but it used a lot!  Its 2 sheets of Whisper White background cs, plus a bunch of pieces of Pumpkin,  Blue, and Red for mats.

 

If anyone is interested in the class I will cut all the pieces for you, supply the extra cardtock and embellishments and mail it to you with directions.  The cost of the kit is $45 plus shipping to you.

Here is my take for this weeks sketch:

I used the new Boho Blend Simply Scrappin' kit from Stampin' Up!  I just love the colors in it, and the textured paper is to die for!!  Thanks SU!  All of the pattern paper and cardstock and diecuts are from the kit except for the Chocolate Chip cs.  It is also textured though!  In the kit is a combo of Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.  I love that SU! had put in 2 sheets of neutral color in this kit.  The trend has been back to using white shades for backgrounds for a while.  Its funny, thats why I quit using Creative Memories years ago... I thought...for the bland white backgrounds.  Turns out it was just the lack of cretaive elements available I think...cause I like this  background!

I also added some of the new Chocolate Chip twill available in the new SU! Occasions Mini Catalog and some jumbo coppper brads from my stash.  I love these photos of my youngest two kids...they are both so goofy and total hams.  These are just a handful of the photos from one afternoon of them making silly faces.  The pouty one is actually the background setting on my desktop :)

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #7

Here is your sketch for the week!  I hope you all have fun with it!  Feel free to change around the mats, change the elements and size, or even just use half of the layout.  I always do double-page spreads because I have soooo many photos.  Don't forget to send me a link so I can see what you come up with!!  If you upload to Splitcoast, add CSS7 in the keyword section :)  I still promise to add links so everyone can see all the layouts in one place  SOON.  My big weekend is here TODAY!!

There is a story behind this weeks sketch.  Heather over at Stamp with Heather made an awesome page a couple of weeks back using the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' Kit that I just fell in love with.  Seeing as how I still needed one more layout for my beach track I thought that I would try to CASE it.  Details on how I changed her page are below with my version of it.  Here is Heather's original page:

I just love the circle with all the flowers scattered around it, as well as her bright color choices!!

I created my page first, then backtracked to turn it into a sketch for you guys :)

For my page, I knew that I couldn't use the die cuts for 40 people, so I changed that to stamps.  I pulled out an old set: Island Blossoms for the same effect as the flowers from the kit.  I had also used this color combo already for the same track, so I changed the colors up.  My other friend Heather was over ( I know too many Heather's... this gets confusing for you guys I'm sure!!  Speaking of, anyone ever seen the movie "Heathers"??!! What a classic.)

Back to the point, I had a layout in mind, and Heather had some colors pulled out...we tweaked the layout, and the colors, but it was a combo effort of design between us :)  The fowers are stamped in So Saffron, Ruby Red, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Certainly Celery.  We cut all those out and layered them, scattering them around the circle (doesn't it look like the sun, hehe).  Added a bit of Sahara Sand (torn and distressed) across the bottoms of the pages for a sandy look. 

The neat part, we took the leftover pieces from the circle for the remainder of the Saffron pieces on the layout.  The large circle was cut first with a quilting template.  The remainder on the inside I cut to fit on the on the other corner.  With what was left from that I made the tag at the bottom of the page.  Kinda cool I though and of course a saving of cs for the event  <wink>

The big mat is meant to have a large photo, but I didn't have time this week tpo blow one up, so I made do and will probably change it out later.  I also need to add the journaling :)

Missing Photos Found!

OK, If you were a stack of photos that was hiding in total chaos where would you be?  Under the piles of other photos, with the completed layouts on the floor, with the half-done layouts on the table, under the pile of cardstock scraps, between the layouts for the event, in a box, or even maybe under the cat.  NO.....they were actually where they belonged...ha!  No wonder I couldn't find them.

So, here finally is the page for my sketch.  It looks way cuter IRL, and the photo is very bad since it was taken at night, propped against my door and falling over.  The colors are Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Cool Carribean (retired), and Green Galore.  The stamps are all from the set Poolside from CTMH.  Ribbon and cardstock is all SU!

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch #6

Here you go with a new Scrappy Sketch of the week!  I promise that I read your emails and even check out all the links to your pages...but for the last couple of weeks I have been so far behind!  I hope to start adding links to your previous weeks entries each week soon...after the big day next weekend!! 

In the meantime, it looks as if I am not the only one that takes TONS of pictures of each event.  There are jut toooooo many to put on one layout...especially the sketches out there today.  I mean, I love blowing up a pic and having the spotlight on just one photo, its a great look!! But, come on, sometimes I just want to get back to the basics and put a whole story's worth of photos on one layout :)  So, here's another that can accomodate a bunch.  You could even squeeze in more if you want.  Your stamping can be on the big white mats (or pattern paper).  And I used the circles for my extra embellishments (mine are stamped), and for journaling.

The page I have for you today is one of the ones for the Beach track next week.  I have my photos picked out, but they have gotten lost in the mess from this week, LOL.  So, as soon as I find them, I'll post the page!!

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch 5 and a question

Here's one for all of you that take WAY too many pictures at one event!  I know I do.  Its hard to narrow it down sometimes!  In fact the last few days have all been photos from a one afternoon event...the 4th of July.  Marcus' brother and his family came up to visit from SC, as well as both sets of grandparents.  We took the boys to throw the baseball in the park, played Monopoly, cooked out, goofed around, and celebrated all our july family birthdays... 4 of them!!!  It was a LOT of photos!!  So this layout I used for the birthday shots.

I kinda cheated, seeing as how this page was already made as a class sample, I had just never put pics on it...but I thought it was a bit simpler than the last couple.  and too, it got more photos off my desk and onto a page that was blank and waiting!!

All the materials are Stampin' Up!  I used Real Red, Ballet Blue, Brilliant Blue, and Green Galore cs and pads.  The images are from the sets Big Bold Birthday and Think Big (retired)

For this page I kept all the photos 4x6, even though some of the mats are larger.  And I have to say, I really do like blowing up some a bit bigger. 

This brings me to the question I wanted to answer from Heather Summers.  She wanted to know why I printed photos at home.  Well, usually I don't.  I send them all off to Walgreens or Snapfish...depending on how fast I want them back.  THEN as I am working on a page I decide if I want a larger version of one or more pics.  I print these off at home.  I always have a great printer, thanks to my techno-loving dad who has to have the best of the best, and well, guess who gets last years best model?  ME!!   And if you look closely at the page from yesterday you'll see that the blown up version is WAY better quality than the ones I sent off to Walgreens.  It makes me want to print them all at home, its just more expensive.

For my page, I had a lot of photos of my littlest one and his cousin playing baseball one day, so I kinda collaged them all together.  I used Stampin' Up!'s new Jersey Shore DSP for the strips, Bashful Blue cs for the base, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, and Brilliant Blue ink, Just Baseball, and Sporting samp sets ( and Alphadots retired) , and Wild Wasabi double stitched ribbon.

Cyndi's Scrappy Sketch 2!!

I'm back with this weeks new sketch!  I had a bit of trouble with the sniping tool and ended up with a red border around the pages that shouldn't be there...hmmm.

Here's my sample...this is one of the layouts for the Scrapbook fundraiser for the seasons track.   

The background is Whisper White, the mats are Bashful Blue, Groovy Guava, Barely Banana, and Certainly Celery.  I used the cute new little set "A Good Egg". Everything is stamped in Black then colored with my Stampin' Write markers.  The alphabet set is Best Friends upper.  It was stamped with the colors, then I faintly added a shadow with my Stampin' Journaler.  I hand cut the photo corners from a 1.5" square of white cs.  Hope you guys like it!  Please play along with us ;)

First Scrapbook Fundraiser peek and a sketch!

Lots of gals have card sketches on their blogs, but I don't see many scrapbook sketches.  I've been thinking about it for a few weeks now, and thought why not?  Since I will be in scrapping mode for a while. 

I do go to scrapping websites and blogs too, but most of them don't stamp.  So, I am offering up sketches and layouts which are suitable for stamping scrapbookers.  Let me know what you think.  If anyone wants to play along I will start offering a prize maybe?  For the first sketch I went with a layout that I use a lot...because its simple and allows for lots of photos if desired.  Remember, you can crop many phots to fir in one space, or blow one up, or in my case below, I flipped one of the photos.  I also created a card for you using the left hand page as my sketch to show you the versatility.

Here is my page first:

Peek 1: This is the first page from the boy track for the upcoming Fundraiser!  You can obviously title yours anything you want, but "hugs" worked for my photos.  I actually created the sketch first and then made the page from that.  All supplies are Stampin' Up!  I used Tempting Turquoise as the base and Real Red for the large mats (I pulled these colors out of the paper I chose...East Coast Prep DSP)  My photo on the left didn't work right, so I flipped it and then matted it on Wild Wasabi.  The stars are a combo of Nursery Necesseties, Starstruck,  and Classic Bakgrounds.  I used the large and small star punches for these.  Also used: Jumbo Outline alphabet, Define Your Life, 1/2" circle punch, Bold Brights brads, Red striped Grosgrain, Wild Wasabi Dbl stitched grosgrain, Turquoise and mustard  1/4" grosgrain.  Here is a closeup of the bottom right corner. 

I also made a card for you using the Nursery Necessities set.  I still used the East Coast Prep paper, but chose the sheets without red this time.  I stamped the little boat 3 times: each color on color: Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, and Marigold Morning (yes, its actually Mustard in the paper, but I liked he Marigold better) , cut them up and then pieced them back together.  You'll notice I still used the same basic layout, just leaving off the 3 small circle elements at the top.  My "title" is still there, but hard to see under the watermark...it says "welcome, little one".   Hope you enjoy!  Please play along and show me what you made :)
